Re: Theme Park Restaurants and Food
My wife and I regularly visit the Disney parks (but we haven't been to Disneyland since 2019 and Disney World since 2021), and even though the food is expensive compared to outside the parks, generally I've felt that the meals there are worth the price. We don't eat their food for every meal though ...

Buc-ee's submits proposed site plan for first NC location
https://abc11.com/buc-ees-nc-gas-station-alamance-county/14035064/ A proposed site plan for what would become the first Buc-ee's location in North Carolina has been submitted to the city of Mebane for a site on Trollingwood Road next to the combined I-40/I-85 corridor. The plan calls for a 75,440 sq...

Re: WinCo Operations
I don't know how the logistics for all this works out, but another example I've seen is that unlike most stores around here which sell butter in the skinny quarter pound sticks, Trader Joe's butter is sold in the "stubby" stick format common in the Western US. When I looked up the plant co...

Re: WinCo Operations
I'm actually surprised just how much Tillamook product is available here on the East Coast, since I didn't really expect it to be here. Stores like Lowes Foods, Harris Teeter and even Food Lion seem to have Tillamook ice cream and a fair number of Tillamook cheese products available. Walmart typica...

Overstock rebrands to Beyond, CEO abruptly resigns under pressure from activist shareholders
https://www.cnbc.com/2023/11/06/bed-bath-beyond-ceo-quits-amid-overstock-transition.html On the same day that Overstock officially changed its name to Beyond Inc (after purchasing the leftovers from the Bed Bath and Beyond bankruptcy,) CEO Jonathan Johnson has abruptly resigned. This follows a lette...

Another possible alternative: They could bring back the TOP Foods brand. I don't think that one has the same baggage as Haggen does, and probably still has at least some amount of name recognition in the areas it was used in.

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: Northwest, Rockies, & Alaska Impact
If I had to guess, I could see some of the nicer "core" QFC stores on the Eastside like the Downtown and Crossroads stores in Bellevue, Bella Bottega in Redmond, Kirkland Urban and possibly University Village, Mercer Street and Broadway Market (which could easily be rebranded to Fred Meyer...

Re: PCC Community Market To Close Downtown Seattle Store
The City of Bellevue should erect a statue in honor of Ksharma Sawant for her contributions to Bellevue's growth by driving businesses out of Seattle (most notably 20,000 Amazon tech jobs) with her socialist class warfare nonsense on the Seattle city council. If you're going to try to impose huge ta...

Re: Restaurants and Stores Playing Loud Music
You know you're in the classy neighborhood when you go to a convenience store and they're playing loud opera music outside. I've heard of various places doing that to discourage loitering, and saw it firsthand at a Refuel station here in Greensboro on Summit Avenue. Unfortunately on our last visit t...
