Re: WinCo Operations
I no longer live in WinCo territory, but my wife and I did most of our shopping there when we lived in Washington and then temporarily in Utah. In general the experience is decent for the prices, but the quality of the perimeter departments and some of the store brand items was lacking. Around here ...

Re: Vancouver Allows Grocery Stores To Sell Wine
North Carolina still has a state monopoly on liquor sales, although beer and wine are sold in grocery stores and convenience stores. Washington has only allowed liquor sales in grocery stores since 2012 after it was passed by ballot initiative, but taxes it pretty heavily and allows it only in store...

Re: Best Buy to Discontinue Physical Media
I visited the local FYE here in Greensboro (at the Four Seasons Town Center) and confirmed that they do still have one rack of CDs and one rack of DVD/Blu Ray movies (plus a small New Releases rack near the front and a small vinyl section) but it would be charitable to say that physical media in gen...

Re: McDonald's Reusing McFlurry Spindle
The substance in the cup is probably the sanitizing solution that is used in dish washing. In a commercial kitchen there are generally three sinks used for washing: One is filled with dishwater (usually a commercial version of the dish soap you'd use at home), one is filled with rinsewater, and the ...

Re: CVS to discontinue sale of Phenylephrine based nasal decongestants after FDA finds them ineffective
Many customers who buy phenylephrine products bring them back to the store and demand a refund. The store ends up giving a refund and taking a loss. This will save money in the long run. It will increase sales of real pseudoephedrine and make customers happier. They will actually get something that...

Re: New Forums!
I like the change to add a forum for talking about brands and products. If I can make one more suggestion for a forum to add, I think there's enough discussion about Gas Stations and Convenience stores that it might make sense to spin that off from the Specialty Chains forum into a separate one.

Re: Dollar Tree To Change Some Items Back to $1
I don't go to Dollar Tree very often, but can't recall seeing any $1 items the last time I was at one of the nearby locations. I have seen some $1 items reappear at local Dollar General stores, but I am there rarely enough that I can't tell if those were always $1 or if they reverted.

Re: Eddie Bauer dumbs down logo for GenZ
I remember back in the 90s they got into furniture (Eddie Bauer Home, basically their attempt at Pottery Barn) and men's dress wear (AKA Eddie Bauer) but neither of those lasted very long.

Eddie Bauer dumbs down logo for GenZ
https://www.fastcompany.com/90963252/eddie-bauer-new-logo-ditches-script-and-adopts-a-goose Eddie Bauer, in an effort to make their logo readable to GenZ people who apparently consider cursive writing some sort of hieroglyphics, has created the most generic logo possible they possibly can and are us...
