Re: Walmart announces major new store opening and remodel initiative
I didn't really think Walmart had much more room to grow in the U.S. at this point, and odd that they are focusing back on the Neighborhood Market concept after closing so many over the years. (Although they do seem to hold their own in FL with such limited competition.) I was recently in a fully re...

Re: Rite Aid Buys Independent Pharmacy Tuttle's
Hoe does Rite Aid have money to buy anything these days? Makes no sense.

Re: Grocery Outlet-Inventory levels
I have stopped in a few different Grocery Outlet stores (All locations here are run by different operators) over the past few months in Southeastern PA and they have all just been underwhelming. There have been fewer and fewer closeout items and more and more everyday merchandise with so-so pricing....

Re: 7-Eleven buying large chunk of Sunoco
And while we are on the topic, I came across this oddity while I was looking at something else on Google Maps... a standalone APlus Mini Mart with no gas station! (Formerly a 'Pantry 1', and before that, a Wawa that relocated down the road. Many old Wawa's in sketchy areas that don't have a lease re...

Re: Conventional pet food back at Petco
Petco always seems to go back-and-forth, trying so many different formats, and never quite knows what it wants to be. At least they have really cleaned up or shuttered some of their dumpier locations in my area. Their newest stores are definitely a big improvement.

Re: Costco Food Court
I tried the cookie yesterday as my store purchased some for the staff (I'm an employee). It was a lot larger than I imagined and it was good (not something that really 'wowed' me, but good enough for a cookie). Definitely sharable between two people (and probably best if you do given the calories :l...

Re: Safeway NorCal: 12pk Coke/Pepsi 10.99
Not to defend Safeway and their horrid pricing, but I don't believe that most retailers have too much say when it comes to soda prices from Coke/Pepsi given they are vendor items...soda has become ridiculously expensive everywhere. Surely Safeway has it marked up a bit, but their cost is likely more...

Re: 7-Eleven buying large chunk of Sunoco
I thought 7-11 already took over all of Sunoco's retail operations...I guess that was only in the Northeast at the time. Not even all of them there, just the ones that were part of that AM/PM group coming from the former Atlantic fuels. There are still many Sunoco stores that are not part of 7/11 a...
