Albertsons/Safeway Divested To Retailers Other Than Haggen
We know that Haggen was not the only grocer to buy divested Albertsons and Safeway stores. I am wondering how the other companies are faring with the acquisitions? Do they feel Albertsons/Safeway has been unfair to them? Or are they actually making a go of it successfully? Other than the Haggen stor...

Re: Haggen files bankruptcy
In terms of the Northwest stores, I could possibly see the more successful original stores staying Haggen. Or possibly the stores being acquired by Metropolitan Market and/or Town and Country Markets, the owners of Central Market. I could see some of the acquired stores being sold to various indepen...

Re: Haggen files bankruptcy
I was also looking at both of Haggen's Facebook pages and customers can no longer make comments unless it is part of a post that the company made. This all really did not have to happen if that stupid company had only listened to customer complaints!

Re: Integration of Albertsons and Safeway
I was in one of the few Seattle area Albertsons stores in Auburn tonight. While there, I saw that the regular eggs are now carrying the Lucerne brand. So I am guessing that the milk and cheese will be switching over soon. So how much longer will we see Essential Everyday in Albertsons? I also wonder...

Re: Haggen to "close or sell" some stores- 5 AZ, 16 CA, 1 WA, 5 OR
Haggen needs to give up this losing game and retreat to the Northwest. While they are at it, Comvest ought to sell the original stores and maybe some of the acquired properties to Town and Country Markets. Town and Country operates the Central Market large format stores and the smaller format Town a...

Re: Haggen to "close or sell" some stores- 5 AZ, 16 CA, 1 WA, 5 OR
I would not be surprised if we see more closures here in Washington. I have heard that the Lake Forest Park store is doing well. One of the few of the newly acquired stores. But it is in a fairly well off area. But I can see most of the South King County stores going to Walmart Neighborhood Markets ...

New Format QFC To Open In Gig Harbor
The Gig Harbor QFC is going to close for 5 months and go with a "fresh, local and organic" focus. This will be the first Kroger owned store to go with this format. This store is across the street from a former Safeway, now turned Haggen. I don't know how the Gig Harbor Haggen is doing. I k...

Maybe the card should be like what Fred Meyer does and it is for earning fuel points and also rebates. But in Fred Meyer's case, the option to get the sales price without the card is there. You just won't earn the fuel points or rebates.

Re: Haggen begins conversion of former Safeway/Albertsons stores
It is frustrating to see this happen and see all the negative messages on their Facebook page. How can they NOT pay attention? They remind me of the now defunct Larry's Market that started out as a middle class outfit and then went upscale. Larry's stores were great but like Haggen, they lost their ...
