I suspect that's a typo, but it's just as inedible.

Re: Dollar Tree - Family Dollar

"We can say what we want but these stores are an important source of various consumable/household goods and when areas already have few choices, a closure is not good. I am talking basic everyday things like paper products, dish soap, etc. Forget the other nonessential stuff like party supplie...

Re: Stop & Shop closures

I have always heard that Giant-PA is Ahold's US cash cow. It is conceivable that now that Ahold seems to have gotten Giant-MD back on track, the two Giants are bringing in the bulk of the profit. They could mask the lower volumes and profits at Stop and Shop with the two Giants. Perhaps now with Ah...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact

The Dallas division was plagued with a union instability that was threatening the whole company - not just that division. When you combine that with an older and smaller store base containing mostly in-town, non-suburban stores, in the late 80's, it was a recipe for disaster. Adding to this complex...

Re: Fast Food chains focusing on apps while menu prices skyrocket

If restaurants are going to push the app so hard, they need a separate line for it. I shouldn't have to wait in the drive thru line behind everyone else. And most of the time, the designated pick up spots aren't much better since you are waiting for an employee to get free to deliver your order to ...

Re: Stop & Shop closures

I went to four more Stop & Shops in Central Jersey today. Maybe it was just a particularly bad day for a particularly bad four stores, but I really feel like we're almost counting down the days here. Once again, all the stores were devoid of any and all customers. Started at Inman Avenue in Edi...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact

The stores there seemed to sell before they were closed. One store was sold to Kroger (which closed it within a year), several were sold to H-E-B and never reopened as anything, and a few got converted to Fiesta Mart which also would close them. (Fiesta seemed to be a poor operator for the former M...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact

I forgot completely about Lawrence Brothers. They received divests in the Albertsons LLC/United purchase. And some of those did indeed fail. Oh, they were the purchasers? There were only two stores. They reopened the Wichita Falls store (2720 Southwest Pkwy.) as Cash Saver when it was sold in Janua...
