Re: Home Depot Set On Fire in San Jose, California

Just to show what kind of a mindset this brings on when I saw the headline on the news feed about this Saturday evening I wondered if the fire could've been the result of a retail theft incident. I didn't even need details; I just knew. Those of you who live in these areas-how do you do it? It seems...

Re: Southern California UFCW Contract Expiring 3/6/22

Union members will not be able to review the entire contract before voting. Only if it is ratified will the full contract be released. You'll be shocked how little they got. I'd be a firm NO vote for that reason alone. I've voted in several mail in ratification balloting elections and we were alway...

As a retired Letter Carrier, I liked them too because of their superior packaging vs. what you'd get from an Amazon parcel containing pet supplies.

Re: Albuquerque repeals plastic bag ban

These folks who push regulations like plastic bag bans are very obnoxious. Again it's something pushed by people who don't live in the real world. I've been in stores where the cashier literally apologizes to customers for charging a bag fee. I can't think of anybody who likes this-store employees,...

Re: Wegmans Woes in North Carolina

Where does this notion that Wegmans has an agreement with Giant Eagle to avoid Pittsburgh come from? Is it just an oft-repeated rumor? Because if true it would appear to violate antitrust laws. That has been an "urban legend" in the Capital District area of NYS for many years. Word is tha...

Re: Walgreens Adding Volta Free Electric Vehicle Chargers

I've never seen anyone use the Save Mart ones in NV. However the Safeway in Truckee, CA and Raleys in Incline Village, CA Tesla chargers seem to get quite a lot of use. It's always been a head scratcher to me why they were installed to begin with. EV's are not exactly common around where I live. Yo...

Only place locally I've seen EV charging stations is at a Kohl's along NYS Route 30 in Amsterdam. I've yet to see one in use.

Re: Free Masks

The ones I saw at Walmart in the San Francisco Bay Area were individually sealed in plastic 3M masks. These are folded flat and expand when you unwrap them. I like the quality and fit. Are those the Aura 9205+? I've bought a few boxes of those at Home Depot but haven't tried them yet. They look ver...

Re: Free Masks

It was my understanding (from media accounts I've read about this) that there was a limit of 3 per person. Now after seeing that picture from a Kroger store, looks like you could just help yourself to as many as you'd like. Personally I suppose they're better than nothing but I consider all of those...

True confession time (and totally off topic) but in spite of the fact I currently live maybe 200 miles (and never having lived more than 400 miles) from the Canadian border, I have NEVER set foot in Canada and honestly I would love to.
