Re: Gelsons opening first of former Haggen locations January 14

This is not the first time they have been in that neighborhood. Mayfair, which later became a Jons, was on the corner of Fountain and La Brea forever before being torn down for another Hollywood mega development a couple of years ago. I remember that Mayfair really well. It was in very bad shape. I...

Re: Fry's Signature concept in existing store

That, is my kind of store!!

Just about everything under one roof. I love being able to get everything I need in one shop!

The store looks great but the ceiling is yuk and the center store floors are yuk as well.

Re: Publix expanding to Virginia

Also interesting that this comes closely behind Wegmans announcement of their first NC store to be built in Cary (Raleigh-Durham area) where Publix and Wegmans will go head to head for the first time. I guess they know what they are doing, as successful as they've been but wonder if the further the...

Re: Gelsons opening first of former Haggen locations January 14

I would think they will do very well in Rancho Mirage with the demanding customer. Hopefully they can cobble back together a good staff of employees as that will be the key to their success. I wonder if they are keeping in-store Panda Express. I think that store had one, or maybe no? Yes, the Panda...

Re: Albertsons shutting second Safeway bakery, this time in Washington

Safeway typically hasn't closed those stores if they're profitable. I was in a very undersized Tom Thumb in Dallas that appeared to still be very profitable. Safeway on the West coast has a ton of "small" stores scattered around small towns and even within the Bay Area. Plus, they're open...

Re: Haggen and Albertsons settle lawsuit

Just curious as to why Comvest is not being singled out for any of this?

We will never know the truth but something is very rotten in Denmark and in my eyes, Denmark is Comvest.

Re: Gelsons opening first of former Haggen locations January 14

I don't know klkla........... I have managed some very tough stores in my time (from Miami Beach to Beverly Hills) and I never came across a client base like Rancho Mirage. We had a law suite just about every month (slip and falls, slander, chipped tooth, et al) and the majority were seriously bogus...

Re: JCPenney to resume appliance sales

I'm a millenial and I don't know any who shop at JCP and when I go into the local JCP while it does have a good amount of foot traffic, there are virtually no millenials shopping there. The store downsized its children's department recently and in general is really poorly assorted. It is also messy...

Re: Gelsons opening first of former Haggen locations January 14

It seems like they are opening the former Haggen stores exactly two weeks apart so far. The second former Haggen store opens a week from today in Rancho Mirage (former Pavilions). Carlsbad will open February 11th. Job fairs are scheduled on February 4th in Santa Monica and February 20th for Ladera ...
