Re: Dick's Sporting Goods best quarter ever

The one thing I find odd at Dick's is that they remove all their clearance merchandise, which I assume goes to their clearance stores. So after the season, there are few deals to be found. While I think that it's smart not to have clearance merchandise competing with full price merchandising, for us...

Re: Eddie Bauer dumbs down logo for GenZ

I guess these brands do not mean the same thing they once meant. Sort of feels like Forever 21 bought everything. Forever 21 is Authentic Brands. So yeah, Forever 21 did buy everything. I guess what I mean more is that instead of taking these brands and letting the brands continue operating how the...

Re: Eddie Bauer dumbs down logo for GenZ

Looking at some of what they sell with the mountain logo at Sam's Club, my perception is the stuff is... not the quality I would expect of this brand... I thought cursive was taught around 2nd or 3rd grade. Totally agree. Same for the Gap and Banana Republic items sold at Costco and Sam's. Total ga...

So essentially a well funded Green Zebra market that ran out of cash after the pandemic. Those were about 5000 sq ft stores in Portland

Re: Eddie Bauer dumbs down logo for GenZ

When Lands End changed their logo, it took several years to fully switch it out. For seven seasons, you saw a mix of labels. I think some items have a much longer lead time than we think.

Re: Macy's Buyout? Private ownership bid

And speaking of Macy's.....news broke today that 150 locations are to close in the next few years. https://www.cnn.com/2024/02/27/investing/macys-closing-150-stores/index.html Wait... didn't they already close all their poorly performing stores? I'm now starting the countdown clock for them. T-5 ye...

Bluemercury

With today's announcement that Macy's will open 30 more Bluemercury locations, it made me think that perhaps Bluemercury would have been better off on their own. With Ulta and Sephora growing much faster and having many more locations, has the ownership of Bluemercury held back their potential?

Re: Burlingame Fred Meyer sign demolished

Apparently the new sign is already in place, and if one was not trained to dig deep, probably indistinguishable from the last version. "Kroger Family of Stores" did something right. 8-) OregonLive.com - Meet the New Burlingame Fred Meyer Sign I have some pictures of took of it at night (n...

Seems like they might work well, as other places do fish tacos, which are going to be somewhat similar.
Stick enough mayo or tartar sauce in it to mask the fish flavor and it works!
