Re: Macy's Buyout? Private ownership bid
The fact that they're closing their longtime West Coast flagship store in Union Square in SF is a MAJOR indicator of problems. This would almost be equivalent to closing the Herald Square store. There is an article that specifically mentions that the store closure is pending the sale of the propert...

Re: Macys Union Square closing
Is it real yet, San Francisco? This is the most significant retail closure there yet. And this is a huge loss for Macys, that was a fantastic store. Union Square is dead. It's kind of sad. When I lived in the Bay Area (and worked in downtown SF) from 2009 - 2010 that area was absolutely full of lif...

Re: Publix entering Louisville, KY in 2023
A big reason why I say this for Publix in Denver is due to its store size. There are a lot of empty retail sites around Denver in that 40k square foot range that Publix loves. The King Soopers Stores tend to be quite big and have only gotten bigger. I think there is a place in Denver for a smaller ...

Re: FTC Sues to block Kroger-Albertsons merger
Per the article the following state AGs joined the FTC in the court complaint: Arizona, California, Washington D.C., Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon and Wyoming. This is in addition to the lawsuits filed by Colorado and Washington. Apparently the FTC was afraid of another Haggen fias...

Re: Macy's Buyout? Private ownership bid
They should be hauled in court and eviscerated! I was in Dullard's recently and there was zero "service" which has been my experience in the past at other of their stores. Granted, I was there for curiosity sake and because it was the shortest way from the parking lot, but it's alw...

Re: Target Paid Membership Program?
I would expect Rite Aid to move to ship from store. That is the trend in the industry to reduce the cost and environmental impact. Everyone is moving away from fulfillment centers after spending decades building them. Now you can close that expensive facility and replace it with a inexpensive cloud...

Re: QT expanding to Vegas
QT in Phoenix is mostly building along the freeway system-for example there will be two QT sites at the 91st Ave/I-10 interchange- one just N of I-10 and another S of I-10 (sharing a site with McDonald’s and Starbucks) QT also doesn't seem to mind buying plots in existing shopping centers or even b...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact
Second, they will also be found to have not divested stores where it is needed out of the simple reason of greed. If it's a highly profitable store they will have kept it, overlap or not. Some of the odd behaviors seen like rebranding of some Albertsons companies stores will be revealed to have bee...

I hope they don't come out with this.
I enjoy my combination of 5% RedCard and Target Circle occasional discounts.
I won't join any program that costs me more for the same benefits I currently receive.
