CVS operating Schnucks (Grocer) Pharmacies
CVS is taking over the pharmacy department, similar to what they did at Target a few years ago. In a few cases, they felt the grocery was too close to another CVS Pharmacy so they are "selling those records" to the nearby pharmacy instead of choosing to operate inside the supermarket. CVS ...

Re: Gordmans declares bankruptcy, will liquidate stores
While we haven't seen any further reports (as of this writing), bankruptcy proceedings can be filed on the weekend, as we saw with Haggen, if I recall correctly. So, I suppose it's possible that store suddenly was phoned in by a regional manager or something and "closed early" to discuss w...

Flashfood on trial in USA
Test program launched in "the midwest" for this app that allows stores to sell items close to marked ' sell by / use by ' dates at a discount to customers. Apparently this app is very popular in Canada, according to the article. Canada’s popular Flashfood app is now a pilot program in the ...

Smith's shuttering Idaho Falls store
This store is immediately near a natural foods store (small) and WinCo Foods. Idaho Falls' Fred Meyer store is currently receiving the Kroger Marketplace decor and reset. The highlight? The company is offering jobs at FM to the 90 or so Smith's employees. https://www.eastidahonews.com/2020/03/smiths...

I didn't know this. Sounds like I need to plan an R&R trip to the Battle Ground area.

Re: KFC & A&W Remodeling
It appears the stand-alone location near Idaho Falls, Idaho finally gave up the ghost and closed. It's now a Burger King. *However* there are locations in Blackfoot, Idaho (attached to a C-store gas station property) and Pocatello, Idaho (fully stand alone). Since the last person gave an address, he...

Re: New Amazon Grocery Chain
Wow, that Go Grocery looks like something. I'll have to check it out next time I'm in Seattle.
Clearly they have no concept of affordability though, $2.09 per doughnut?
Thanks for sharing the link.

Re: Walgreens plans to close 200 stores
Another San Francisco, California Walgreens is closing. The 730 Market Street store will close March 3. It is the seventh Walgreens store to close in the city since early 2019. An employee from the closing store described a bum rush of homeless people grabbing merchandise and running. They had to l...
