I've never seen that interior design before, either. Did it look like the store was remodeled recently?

Re: Acquisition and Integration of Haggen into Albertsons
I know that the "Legacy Haggen" stores were supplied by Unified with the Oak Harbor former Safeway being mostly supplied by Supervalu. I wonder how much time it will take for them to get out of contracts? I would think that Haggen would terminate the contracts while in bankruptcy before t...

Re: [CONFIRMED] Albertsons FL converting to Safeway
Are they using Safeway club cards at this store? I was just looking at the ad for the Oakland Park store and it doesn't say anything about the card until the very last page where they have a section for $5 Fridays 'With your card'. Or is that just a case of right-hand not knowing what left-hand is d...

Re: First 365 by Whole Foods opens Wednesday
I went into the store yesterday evening. Parking was a clusterf--k but that was expected. The store reminded me of a well-merchandised Fresh & Easy to be honest. I didn't buy anything because it was so crowded but it carried most of the items I like from Whole Foods except for one thing: no butc...

Re: Integration of Albertsons and Safeway
More great conditions, this is the empty bakery case situation I am talking about. However, this is the first time I've seen this in this particular location. And no, this is not the same location as the one shown above with the produce condition being so poor. The two locations are well over an ho...

Re: First 365 by Whole Foods opens Wednesday
I think the categories covered in this store will be roughly the same categories carried in a regular Whole Foods, but it will just have fewer items in each category. This particular neighborhood is millennial heaven, especially to the north towards Echo Park. They pack the tiny Lassen's market ther...

It was actually a Market Basket, then a Hughes Market, then Ralphs and now 365 by Whole Foods FWIW.rwsandiego wrote:The location was formerly a Ralphs and I believe an Alpha-Beta before that.

First 365 by Whole Foods opens Wednesday
Title says it all. Whole Food's new "Discount" format is opening in a couple days. Here are some photos of the outside. To be honest it looks kind of tacky but I'll reserve judgement until I see it myself: https://www.theeastsiderla.com/2016/05/whole-foods-puts-its-mark-on-silver-lake/ Her...

Re: Gelsons opening first of former Haggen locations January 14
It turns out the Pacific Beach store will open this Thursday. Re: Integration of Albertsons and Safeway
Actually, they did buy quite a few back. About five in San Diego county, Santa Barbara, Goleta, and Rancho Cucamonga come to mind off the top of my head and I'm sure there were more.pseudo3d wrote:Also notice that when Haggen failed, Albertsons did not buy back any of the grocery stores in California.
