The store is at Sunvalley Mall in Concord, California. It is a reasonably busy mall, and gets lots of customer traffic. The exterior has not changed much since the 60s.
This store must be doing well to be getting such an extensive remodel.

Re: "Disney stores" to open in some Target locations
Disney stores are high priced. Target usually sold items for less. Will this be a high priced area with more expensive items such as custom lightsabers or expensive Star Wars items?
Or will will this be like a Build A Bear opening up inside a Walmart?

Re: JCPenney Remodels
The remodel is a total remodel. They are tearing up the carpets and removing walls. They are redoing the walls and totally reorganizing. The old store within a store style is going away.

Re: Kroger to outsource Drug Dept. to Walgreens in Knoxville, TN Market
The problem with outsourcing pharmacy is that Walgreens is notorious for not accepting certain insurances or some types of medicaid. This will result in the loss of customer traffic as people will be forced to go to other pharmacies such as Walmart which accepts practically any insurance. Perhaps Kr...

Re: Acme to close 4 stores
This is the same story over and over again. Anything that Albertsons takes over and rebrands loses business. It is probably the terrible pricing, terrible selection, converting full time employees to part time, loss of loyal customers, and brand loyalty. Albertsons tries to run stores in their own w...

Re: New self checkouts at Home Depot
I first saw these new self checkout machines in December of last year. The old NCR machines were the ones that supposedly were hacked and led to the Home Depot breaches. These new Dell machines are not designed to deal with shoplifting or people who do not ring up all of their items. My local Home D...

Re: Food Source (Raleys) closing Pittsburg, CA
FoodsCo which is run by Kroger, seems to beat other supermarkets by price overall. The bottom line seems to be price. Raley's does not seem to be as good in price.
Perhaps if Raley's improved prices and presentation, they could have prevented the closure.

Re: Walmart observations
Labor cost is the reason. They want to reduce labor hours as much as possible. Each Walmart store must meet certain standards of profitability, work hours, budget, shrink, etc. Closing early reduces work hours, cuts down on late night shoplifting, reduced security personnel hours, etc. Walmart is st...

Re: Walmart observations
Has anyone noticed the sweltering heat at some of these Walmart stores? There is a current heat wave approaching over 100 degrees in some areas of the San Francisco Bay Area. The temperatures in the Walmart stores are intolerable. I felt like I was going to pass out. Is the air conditioning broken? ...

Re: Sprint Closures
There are a ton of Sprint stores that are completely empty of customers. I always wondered how they even stay in business. I always see one employee sitting there looking like they hate their life. There is also a Sprint guy at my local Walmart. He does absolutely nothing but stand there. Does he ge...
