Re: Stores Returning to Regular Hours
There is only one Walmart in my area that has an auto center and it's also the newest, built in 2007. From Google it hasn't reopened. I would think the auto center would be a hard thing to reopen at this point, given the employees wouldn't just be cross-trained work in another part of the store and ...

Re: SteinMart Files for Bankruptcy.
They didn't advertise much (they had a loyalty card of some kind and sent coupons out from it). I don't think there was much of a cross between the customer at this store and Ross/Marshalls. The cross here was with mainline department stores like a Macy's or a Kohls. This was an upscale "off p...

Re: JC Penney Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection
No department store is doing all that well right now. I don't understand why Belk would want JCP. Most Belk stores are in the same malls as JCP so basically they'd be ending up like Winn-Dixie did when they bought Sweetbay or to a more similar situation, when Sears bought Kmart. Only in this case it...

Re: Discussion: Convenience stores / gasoline retailers
Here in my area of Florida: Marathon: These are all former BP stations/convenience stores. These range from older 1980s builds all the way up until the last BP stations built in the late 2000s which were only a few years old when Marathon acquired them. Speedway is rare in my area. I do know of one ...

Re: JC Penney Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection
I've never been in a Belk. How are their stores? I've traveled to many places with a Belk but never went into one... Isn't Sycamore the same group that runs Staples? That store has turned into such a zombie under Sycamore. Also curious why they only want to keep 250 stores open. Maybe the plan is t...

Re: Aisle Roving Robots in Supermarkets
I saw one in a different YouTube video awhile back. I could see this possibly being an annoyance in a busy store with crowded aisles. Instead of people and carts blocking paths, there's a robot in the way too. LOL

I saw this in my area a few months back with a Bealls Outlet, but I haven't seen it at any other retailers. Sign on door that it was temporarily closed, but nothing else, then read about why online.

Re: Stores Returning to Regular Hours
What I want to know is why are stores, including Walmart still closing so early? I understand in areas where looting was happening or when it was harder to get stock and there was panic buying earlier in the pandemic. But exactly what are they doing with that extra time now? Just how many touch poin...

Re: McDonald's Closing 100 Walmart Restaurants
They're still opening sit-down cafes, there's one being built not far away from me. Eventually, COVIDmania will go away and things will go back to normal (despite "the new normal" being hyped up, do you really expect that society will permanently keep up with handwashing?), I keep finding...

Re: Dunkin' Donuts To Close 800 U.S. Locations
There is a Dunkin' Donuts near where I work and they frequently bring in donuts since it's close by. That location dates back quite a while, I believe it was built around the late 80s, and as far as I can remember it's always had a drive thru. The line often backs up into the road most mornings. The...
