Re: Article: 'Target has a plan to take down Dollar General and Walmart'
Given the fact that a good chunk of Target's demographic is "people who wouldn't want to be caught shopping at Walmart" I can't imagine something like this is going to move the needle much.

Re: CA to ban disposable cups at restaurants for eat in
Jay Inslee isn't running for reelection (I suspect he's looking for a Cabinet position in the next Biden administration) so Washington will have a new governor next year. With the way Washington votes the election is basically a formality though, and the Democrat on the ballot (which will most likel...

How Taco Bell Crippled KFC & Pizza Hut
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKh85_81US0 It's a lengthy watch at over 40 minutes, but goes into a lot of detail (including a large number of charts) about how Taco Bell quietly went from a minor part of the Yum Brands portfolio to their biggest asset, quietly growing in the US even as KFC and Piz...

Re: Target "Self Checkout Hours" 11 AM to 7 PM
Some stores have a relatively small pick up section in the parking lot, others seem to have turned half the parking lot into pick up parking. For example, the nearest Target to here (the Greensboro Lawndale Avenue store) has a whopping 22 pickup parking spots (plus alleyways between the spots that p...

Re: Great Value candy bars
Matt Mitchell, a comedian on YouTube (formerly of the It's a Southern Thing channel) who does a fair number of food review videos, just released a video where he compares all five of the Great Value candy bars to the originals: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlBBZaDILeY TL;DR version in spoiler tex...

I've also seen a decent number of prescription drugs being produced in Israel.

Re: Sheetz having trouble gaining traction in Detroit
Sheetz has quite a few locations around here, but seems to have a pretty bad reputation overall. Aside from the $1.776 per gallon gas promo they did on the 4th of July last year (and even that got a decent amount of bad press for causing major traffic jams) the only time you ever hear about one is w...

Re: Walmart announces major new store opening and remodel initiative
Outside of Seattle and the Eastside Walmart has a decent number of stores in the Puget Sound area, but I think Seattle politicians would prefer to have food deserts over a Walmart store in their city limits. There was a Sam's Club on Aurora back before Sam's pulled out of the PNW, then the site got ...

Re: Walmart announces major new store opening and remodel initiative
If we're talking about building out new full-line Walmart stores I would imagine a lot of their focus would be on growing exurban areas. It seems a lot of growth is happening in those areas as people look for less expensive houses than you would find in the cities and suburbs, and there are a fair n...

Re: Oregon's Next Level Burger buys Veggie Grill (out of bankruptcy)
They had a couple of these in Seattle when I used to work there. I recall that most of the menu seemed to be "fake meat" dishes, and there was really nothing on there that would appeal to anyone who wasn't eating a vegetarian diet when other non vegetarian options existed in the area (alth...
