Re: Signature Select brand
Just yesterday, I noticed a new product line of frozen breakfast sandwiches at a local Tom Thumb also under the Signature Select banner. These were a new product which was actually priced fairly competitively. However, as this is a product which is a defacto item at most fast food restaurants, it s...

Re: Sears/Kmart Death Watch 2017
Also, many of the Kmarts beyond the ones I named (though not nearly all) are 90's stores; could be a lease ending situation. I was able to find (weird!) an online database courtesy of the City of Ammon, Idaho that mentions KMart's grand opening in city council minutes from (wait for it...) 1991! So...

Re: Sears/Kmart Death Watch 2017
Ammon, ID - (Idaho Falls). This store was the last KMart in eastern Idaho. The only remaining Sears Holding store will be a Sears in Idaho Falls at Grand Teton Mall, about 1 mile (4 minutes by car) away. Salt Lake City, UT - This downtown Sears is on valuable real estate. It, along with its parking ...

Re: Bi-Mart Changes?
Guess I should have listed my original post under department stores. The Bi-Mart in Kuna, Idaho is preparing for opening (November 9) and already has an enrolment tent set up for prospective members (yes, it is a "membership" store but they are pretty low key in many locations). They call ...

Re: Albertsons LLC Decor on the way out?
The local newspaper chose to highlight the coming Starbucks to the Layfayette locations. Phrasing is "small renovations" of the stores.
Starbucks to open 2 new Lafayette locations
I guess people really do see supermarket and Target Starbucks locations as if they were regular locations.

New Seasons workforce talks of unionizing
New Seasons workers move to unionize The rub is apparently over recent changes to which employees would be eligible for health insurance. Another thing I found interesting in the article New Seasons' growth was buoyed by a 2009 investment by Portland-based Endeavour Capital, which now has a roughly...

Re: Lucky/SuperSaver Utah
The copy has arrived - the answer is "Lucky! Means low prices." There will now be 4 Lucky stores in operation effective Sunday October 29. The two in California just look like low-quality re-bannered Albertsons with their own ad. These sound quite a bit different. . . Lucky - Wake Ave. - 2...

Re: Sears Canada to Liquidate
Apparently Canadians aren't as used to "going out of business" liquidator sales as U.S. customers. Press about rapidly deteriorating store conditions, despite discounts only being 20% to 50% off tags (although it is Business Insider :| ) http://www.businessinsider.com/sears-clearance-sale...

Albertsons NorCal change
Already being discussed within the northeast thread related to ACME and Safeway East, but doesn't hurt to cross-post here.
