Re: Future of Yard Birds in Chehalis, WA
So I wonder was the Shop N Kart configured like a Fred Meyer? It must have been. It reminded me more of a franchise Food 4 Less. I vaguely recall in the early 90's going into a Fred Meyer that had food separated from non food, south of Seattle, and the food area was a warehouse type format with sel...

Re: Kroger to merge with Albertsons?
I’m still wondering how Kroger will handle divests in the PNW? For example, I can’t see Kroger walking away from the Albertsons stores in more rural areas of Idaho and Montana, where there isn’t a Smith’s. Boise could be a problem. But I wonder if Kroger would re-banner Fred Meyer operations around ...

Re: Future of Yard Birds in Chehalis, WA
Since there was a mention earlier in this thread about Fred Meyer operating a grocery inside Yard Birds, I thought I’d post a photo of it!

Re: Gas station brands appearing in new areas
Here in the Seattle area, I seem to remember that BP entered the area by buying up the Exxon operations here. That was followed by purchasing Mobil stations here too! That was in the days before Exxon and Mobil merged. Then BP sold their stations to Tosco and Tosco had a license to use the BP name. ...

Re: Rite Aid Bankruptcy Speculation
Since Loblaws is re-entering the US by opening a T&T Asian Market in Washington State, I wonder if they would take on Rite Aid and Bartell Drugs? They do own Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada. Interesting side note, Bartell Drugs entered Snohomish County in the 1980's by buying the few Shoppers Drug ...
