Re: Wendys Dynamic Pricing
This is one of the dumbest ideas I have ever heard about. The potential is there to do things like raise prices during lunch hour and other busy periods, raise prices when the dining room is open, raise prices to push people to use an app/loyalty program, etc. Wendy's seemed to be doing ok, and has ...

Re: Burlingame Fred Meyer sign demolished
As far as this goes I'm just glad we didn't get a box shaped fruit cart logo Fred Meyer sign... I like neon and we have a developer in Reno who has taken out a bunch of old weekly motels (causing exponential growth in the local homeless population) and demolished them but kept all the old neon sign...

Re: Golden Corral All You Can Eat Butterfly Shrimp & Chicken Tenders
One thing a lot of the buffets have done is to start charging for drinks, and those can get expensive. Old Country Buffet/Hometown Buffet was doing this at the end also. I always wondered what happens if you do NOT purchase a beverage...are you allowed to at least get water? Do they give you a diff...

Re: Golden Corral All You Can Eat Butterfly Shrimp & Chicken Tenders
About a year or two before COVID hit, a Golden Corral opened in Vancouver, WA. It is still open, but I have never been to that location. I have been wondering if they are a traditional buffet still, or if they dish out the food you want like a cafeteria, or if they bring you refills on items like th...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
thrifty ice cream would be wise to become a standalone brand at this point, the best buyer for thrifty ice cream would probably be albertsons and would be a great partner to expand thrifty ice cream into new markets. I still wonder why they haven't tried expanding this in some existing store locati...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact
Fred Meyer is a very important component of the larger Kroger organization. Taking away Fred Meyer would be like cutting one of the 4 tires off of a car and expecting to drive it with 3 tires. And to that point the Kroger organization is very important to Fred Meyer as they provide the power and pr...

Re: Digital Coupons
Where it gets REALLY annoying is when a sale price requires a card, app, AND a paper coupon for the sale price. Fred Meyer has done this from time to time. I usually can find the same price elsewhere though. The whole card thing has caused me to shift a lot of shopping to WinCo where they don't have...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact
I seem to remember reading in the last ten years that Fred Meyer's merchandise mix has been changed in the last ten years to resemble more of the Marketplace stores. They have definitely scaled back on the GM side. Departments like Sporting Goods and Automotive are smaller, as is hardware. Paint mi...

Re: CA to ban disposable cups at restaurants for eat in
Coca-Cola Freestyle machines are a big source of soda waste. Customers mix up different flavors and then pour it all out to try another flavor combination. People just stand in front of the machine tasting different flavors and it really holds up the line. It is awful. The sodas from these machines...
