Re: Trader Joe's to add Roseville Store
In the San Francisco Bay Area there are Trader Joe's all over the place. In the suburbs there are some in practically every major suburb and they are always busy. Some suburbs that are solidly middle class have multiple stores. San Francisco and Oakland have multiple locations. Many Trader Joe's in ...

Re: Macys Closing Stores by 2026
West Valley Mall in Tracy, California is a very tired looking mall that was built in the 90s. There are many vacant stores and an abandoned Sears. The entire mall seems very depressing. There are few customers and the only store that does decent business is Target. Tracy is a distant suburb of the S...

Re: Subway Switches To Pepsi For 10 Years From Coke
Some restaurant chains claim that the margin on fountain soda is thin. So they claim signing an exclusive contract is the only way to keep soda fountains profitable. You see restaurants restricting refills or charging for refills. Are margins that thin or are they claiming so to make more of a profi...

Re: Burger King Remodel
The problem with kiosks on the main counter is that employees don't know if you are using the kiosk or waiting for an employee to serve you. I also noticed a large TV in the dining room, but it was turned off. Perhaps they don't want to pay for cable TV service. There was no music playing either. Th...

I went there once for a burger without meat. That is a healthier option for those who don't like unhealthy food. It is always crowded. Some people like that.

Re: Wal Mart Remove Self Checkouts
The number one Division 1 Walmart store in sales in the western US had issues with locked cabinets at first. Literally, customers were screaming and about to riot. This was near the Oakland area. Eventually, store management realized that they needed dedicated teams of key holders at all times. Now ...

Burger King Remodel
I just visited a newly remodeled Burger King in San Ramon, California. Previously it was a 90s era decor restaurant. The 24 Carl's Jr. across the street remodeled recently, so Burger King closed down for a total remodel. The new remodel features 2 new drive-thru lanes much like a new style McDonald'...

Re: Subway Switches To Pepsi For 10 Years From Coke
On the contract, restaurants get a discount if they exclusively use Coke or Pepsi. No major restaurant chain serves both Coke and Pepsi.

Re: Gov Newsom leaves Panera Exempt from CA Min Wage?
There are more exemptions to this law. If the restaurant is in an airport, hotel, casino, theme park, beach, museum, racetracks, stadiums, event centers, corporate cafeteria, pier, Port, park concession, etc. There are so many exceptions. What if you set up your own museum at your restaurant? What a...

Dollar Tree To Raise Prices To $7
I thought the $5 refrigerated food items were overpriced. The CEO wants to raise prices to $7 to increase profits.
