Re: Albertsons continues to disappear from WA
There is nothing about their customer-facing operations that is unique or compelling. I beg to differ. 1. Albertsons has always had unique store interiors. 2. Albertsons has always had stronger quality on service departments than Kroger. If anything I'd use your comment to describe Kmart. Unique st...

Re: New Safeway for Reno
New Safeway did unbelievable volume between opening day and throughout this weekend, I am sure it broke some records for the company. The store is so busy they are having a lot of trouble keeping up despite that the store is well staffed. Also the amount of product customers are purchasing, full ca...

Re: Raleys converting Reno Store to ONE Market Format
It's always a good idea to take what you read on Supermarket News with a grain of salt, or however that expression goes. It is an industry trade publication not an actual journalism-based information source.

Re: Albertsons continues to disappear from WA
To be honest, current day Albertson's is only successful based on their strategy of buying and eliminating their competitors. There is nothing about their customer-facing operations that is unique or compelling.

Re: Market Basket arrives in Rhode Island
Bashas’ in AZ has some of the traits of Market Basket-still family owned, traditional stores (but with pharmacies supplied by United Drugs), buys from local suppliers (especially meat and dairy), mostly regional/national brands with Topco products as their private label. Except they went through a ...

They need to change the extra federal unemployment benefit so that it starts decreasing on a weekly basis. This would encourage people to start looking now. There are 9 million jobs to be filled right now but a lot of them pay less than the current enhanced unemployment benefits.

Re: Raleys converting Reno Store to ONE Market Format
Was checking the latest round of negative reviews for this store that have been posted over the past few days. https://www.yelp.com/biz/raleys-o-n-e-market-reno?sort_by=date_desc 5 new 1 star reviews on Yelp yesterday and today. That's crazy. Not a single review above 1 star since March 26th. No re...

What a mess. I wonder if there was a legal reason they had to open by a certain date?

Re: Remaining unfilled Haggen stores
There was another store in Redondo Beach at 2117 Artesia Blvd. in Redondo Beach that was originally built as a Lucky's that sat empty for a long time because they were asking too much rent and wanted to sub-divide the store with a Drug Store and Supermarket. They finally settled for a Grocery Wareho...
