Re: CVS and Other Pharmacies Closing at 7 PM

The corporate executives are cutting pharmacy hours to save money on payroll. They think that by having shorter hours that they can run on fewer employees. It is simply greed on their part and many employees will either lose their jobs or get reduced to part time. You can't make a living on part ti...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

That is a bad situation in San Rafael. The biggest reason I say this is I just pulled up CVS pharmacy hours around a 5 mile radius of San Rafael: 125 Shoreline, San Rafael - 24 hour pharmacy Las Gallinas, San Rafael - M-F 10-8, S-S 10-6 pharmacy Greenbrae - 24 hour pharmacy San Anselmo - M-F 10-8, S...

Re: Albertsons Cos Advertising

Looking forward to Kroger lowering prices on "day one" like Rodney of Kroger promised. I wouldn't trust Rodney McMullen, who said "inflation is good for us". May be good for big bad Wall Street, but bad for the consumer. I would say honesty is the best policy. But I agree that s...

Re: Amazon Halts All New Amazon Fresh Just Walk Out Stores

How much business do you estimate Amazon Fresh will lose as a result of that policy? I thought they were figuring delivery picking etc. costs into their (very weird) prices. Also the question if they cleared out management is who made the decision to institute this policy change? This is a pretty si...

Re: Kroger Stores Special Holiday Ad

I really think they are fixing to do some rebranding to Kroger. I still wonder if it is just some banners they'd rebrand or all banners. I'd think 99 times before rebranding Fred Meyer or Harris Teeter... and I'd probably think about 50 times before rebranding something like King Soopers or Frys... ...

Re: Wal Mart Atlanta area closure

There is a very run down Wal Mart Supercenter out in Winnemucca that was expanded around 2006 and had one light remodel since then, but is very run down, outdated, and does not feel overly clean. I haven't been there since summer so it is possible they finally remodeled. Obviously this store is not ...

Re: Self Checkout - Home Depot vs Lowes

I went to Home Depot. Pod of 4 self checkouts (lights still say self checkout). 3 employees present there watching things very closely. No regular registers were open except one down at "pro" door.

Re: Bed, Bath and Bye Bye: Company is officially in default

The Reddit and Layoff.com forums on Bed Bath and Beyond are wild lately. A few things I've read: Budgets cut so thin in recent days that there is basically no budget for labor other than managers. Warehouses closing at random for days/a week due to lack of product to move Inventories being canceled ...

Re: Ohio/Dollar General and Price Scanning Errors

Nah, I'll take a pass. My TIME is too valuable to be playing Russian Roulette when shopping. Hit and miss is not for me. :D There is one down in Inglewood near LAX. It isn't a bad little store, for a Dollar General, I would call it an excellent operation. Considering the area they are doing an exce...
