The only things that looked more tired than Fry's stores were the Home Chef meals.

Re: Downtown Scottsdale Fry's to become a Whole Foods
The Phoenix Business Journal ran a story about the closure. This quote from the owner of the shopping center says everything you need to know about this and 75% of the other Fry's stores in Phoenix that were built longer than five-ish years ago: "Discussions already in motion to recruit Whole F...

Re: Downtown Scottsdale Fry's to become a Whole Foods
The last time I was in the store (2017 or 2018) the decor looked nice, but like a lot of Fry's stores it felt old and worn out. Whole Foods will do well there. The closest one is ~8 miles away at 20th and Camelback and the next one is up at Mayo Blvd and Scottsdale Rd. (~15 miles away). There's also...

Re: Sonic Switches To Crinkle Cut Fries
Sonic is switching to crinkle cut fries in mid May. The old fries are skin on natural cut fries. Only a small number of fast food restaurants use crinkle cut fries. I believe Burger King tried it, but switched back. Some people prefer the crinkle cut fries. https://www.brandeating.com/2024/04/sonic...

Re: Marianos Naperville, IL Email Coupon
I've received Smith's coupons by mail, despite there not being a Smith's for >200 miles of Phoenix. I don't recall whether I received them after making a trip to Albuquerque and shopping at Smith's.

Re: Westfield announces UTC San Diego Mall Expansion
I was wondering if/when the Nordstrom site repurposing would start. It doesn't surprise me that the former Sears is fully (or near-fully) leased. The mall is so busy that vacancies don't remain vacancies for very long. UTC is an absolutely beautiful mall. My favorite, TBH. Even before the renovatio...

Re: Dom's and Foxtrot Closed, Chapter 7 BK
On reddit, a couple of Dom's employees mentioned Mariano looked ill and frail when he would visit prior to the sale to Foxtrot. Others have speculated the sale was precipitated by him being ill. Regardless, the majority of posts I've seen think Dom's and Foxtrot were not a good match and that Dom's ...

Until recently, I didn't know they were still in business. I guess it was former sister chain The Limited that shut down in favor of he brand being sold exclusively at Belk.

Re: Phoenix grocery market share 2023: Fry’s gains share, Walmart share drops
I expect Wal Mart's store growth program to help them in Phoenix. Fry's has kept up well with new stores and a few new Safeways have opened too. When did the last Wal Mart open? Unfortunately, they have quite a few stores that are absolute dogs. During their next round of remodels they need to do m...
