Re: Albertsons to raise $720 million in store sale-leaseback
Kroger has "deeded" many of its Fry's stores to "dummy" LLCs with Cincinnati addresses in the Phoenix area.

Re: Grocery chains in your area
Here's what the situation is like in Phoenix: Major Players Walmart: All of their stores in the Phoenix area are either Supercenters or Neighborhood Markets (except for the remaining Walmart on campus store at Arizona State University). The Supercenters tend to be fairly high volume stores whereas t...

This looks like it was about 0.7 miles from a Safeway.CalItalian wrote:Redmond, Oregon Albertsons to close

Re: Target announces a less confusing, lower price campaign
So the way I read it, they are no longer going to use phrases like "price cut" or "as advertised" when they reduce a price, just "sale." And there will be fewer of these offers. But there will be lower everyday prices. But they aren't cutting out sales completely, they...

Re: Walgreens Plans “Simplified” Stores, Sales, Selection and Staff
I got to visit another "simplified" store today. I noticed a large dumpster overflowing behind the store with shelves. They have pulled a ton of inventory out. Most remaining items in core drug/beauty categories have 2-3 pieces on the shelves. They pulled out only one aisle. They could pr...

Re: Target debuts new store designs to launch in October
There is another Target decor and some areas look very colorless and gray. It reminds me of the new CVS Black & White decor mixed with the new gray Walmart concrete floor. http://www.chainstoreage.com/article/first-look-targets-remodeled-store-minneapolis I actually don't mind the look of this ...

Re: Integration of Albertsons and Safeway
Speaking of New Mexico, I took a look at the Gallup weekly ad and found the following: http://albertsons.mywebgrocer.com/Circular/Gallup/3E1A78434/Weekly/2 The Big Book of Savings for the SW region has had Albertsons, Safeway, and VONS for the last year or more. However the weekly adds have been sep...

Re: Sears/Kmart Death Watch 2017
Cash only? This is getting painful to watch... The Kmart store closing sale in my area is pretty interesting. On 3 different visits now, the percent off does not apply properly on items. It is very tricky to catch this, and, of course, you probably have to catch it before you pay due to the "A...
