Re: Amazon Fresh, take 2
Let's just let Amazon keep f---ing around with this format and continuing to bring down Whole Foods (I feel like they've brought it down a couple full steps in the past year). Or maybe Whole Foods is just going way downhill since John Mackey retired which was over a year ago now.

Re: Rosauers
Rosauers got lucky that Safeway and Kroger seem to not be bothering to build many/any new stores on the West Coast and that Ridgefield site was a coup for them. The store is fantastic and it is a good fit for the area. Rosauers is not the cheapest store but they are cheaper than Safeway/Albertsons, ...

Re: Rosauers
They are supplying a handful of independent stores in that region. So even though the stores look sort of like isolated islands, they are stopping the truck at various other surrounding stores. I'd like to see further expansion as they're a great operator. Certainly much better than that Roths thing...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
Went into the Truckee Rite Aid to see how it looks since I expect it'll be the last one within an hour of me soon. My last visit to this store was around Labor Day and it was pretty fully stocked. The store today is a total disaster in a complete state of disrepair. The heat wasn't working in the st...

Re: Canada Single Use Plastic Ban Ruled Unconstitutional
Interesting article that analyzes the "ruling" - Article gets a lot better analytically as you get past the first 5 or 6 paragraphs... in my opinion. Initial paragraphs are rather red meat. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/judges-ruling-on-plastics-ban-exposes-some-toxic-liberal-thinking I...

Re: Modesto A&W closes due to ADA lawsuit
I've heard these groups will target a business and they will not take no for an answer. They will demand the business rebuild so it is able to have proper access/spacing. Really they just want a settlement of some kind but they don't care if they bankrupt the business in the process. As long as they...

Re: Coca-Cola Freestyle machines on the way out?
The robotic soda machines have been in use for quite some time at McDonalds on the drive through side (or at counter serve locations like airports).

Re: Nordstrom Flagship Downtown Seattle
The store must still have adequate staffing to maintain itself. Staffing is of course the top way to deter theft. Perhaps they staff it better since it is near headquarters and they are doing sets there or trying other things there? In San Francisco store traffic was so slow that the store became ra...

Re: Who had a better pumpkin pie?
The Sam's Pumpkin Pie is a thaw and sell item and is actually a Product of Canada (many of the Wal Mart bakery pies are also a product of Canada). I think the Costco pies are actually made in store...? I've tried some store bought pumpkin pies over the years from Safeway, Smiths, and Wal Mart and th...
