Re: Ross closing Lloyd Center store

There are vague plans to knock down the mall, replace part of the street grid, and put in high rise office and residential towers plus keep an ice rink. With Portland struggling, we'll see what happens. However, they have submitted plans to the city to replace the Nordstrom building with a live mus...

Re: Ross closing Lloyd Center store

Ross closes stores occasionally, but the main reason is typically lease related. They can handle shrink and various sales rates. They are pretty much profitable in any form unless the rent is too high. I've heard they run low single digit payroll percentage which explains the thrift store level sta...

Re: Food Club new logo

The Food Club brand apparently has a new logo: https://foodclub.com/ I started noticing this on packaging for prepackaged deli meat at Stater Bros. in August. I don't really care for this logo. But it still stands out well on the packaging. I don't think they needed a new logo but this won't impact...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact

Yup! All the employees at the fake Ralphs Fresh Fare (across the street from fab Bristol Farms) were told they were getting a big remodel. The 1/3 of the TINY parking lot was fenced in with remodel equipment for months. A couple of display cases were replaced with USED cases. And THAT was it. At le...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact

My view is all plans are going forward for this merger to occur. Private label programs at both chains are starting to feel boring; not enough new items and not as much marketing on Kroger private label as I used to see. I am suspicious they are setting up to consolidate private labels in the merge...

Re: Taco Johns Meritage Franchisee Expansion - All units closed

Additional locations closed in August:

These would all be franchises. Maybe not even the same franchisee.

Windsor, CO
Grand Junction, CO (one closed, one still open)
Clifton, CO
Fort Morgan, CO
Sterling, CO
Lamar, CO

I wonder what is happening to this chain..

Re: Ross closing Lloyd Center store

Ross is closing at Lloyd Center: https://www.oregonlive.com/business/2024/10/ross-dress-for-less-closes-lloyd-center-store-leaving-another-vacancy-for-ne-portland-mall.html In all honesty, I am surprised they stayed this long. Only a few national chains are left in the mall. For Ross to close busin...

Re: Big Lots circling the drain: More closures, bankruptcy looms

Am I missing something? 21 stores in California without the "store closing" header on the store locator. It looks like a few more SoCal Stores will remain than I thought. It looks like somewhere around 12-15 stores will remain in CA after these announced closures. None in NorCal though. M...
