Re: Safeway NorCal Remodels and New Stores
The San Ramon, California Safeway appears to be getting the Ultra Premium decor used at Pavilions. There are no Pavilions in Northern California, so this Safeway will be a Pavilions in everything but name.

Re: Safeway NorCal Remodels and New Stores
It is affecting the entire shopping center parking lot. I just found some news stories about a manufacturer defect causing led street lights to turn purple. It is affecting street lights all over the country. The led lights gradually turn purple or blue. Cities are asking people to report them so th...

Re: Safeway NorCal Remodels and New Stores
A Safeway in Pleasant Hill, California which has not been remodeled since about 2004, got new parking lot lighting. It is worse than before. The new LED lighting is dim and deep purple. You can barely see anything in the parking lot now. Supposedly the lights get brighter for a few seconds if they d...

Re: Macy's Closing 10 Stores in January 2022
There is a Macy's Furniture Store in Pleasanton, California all by itself in a strip mall. It is an upper middle class to rich neighborhood. It is always empty of customers. There are two separate Macy's at Stoneridge Mall in the same city. The rent on the strip mall store must be very low, because ...

Re: Safeway NorCal Remodels and New Stores
A Safeway in San Ramon, California is receiving a new decor that I have not seen before. The remodel is much more thorough than the cheap Florida Decor that the Flagship Safeway in Dublin recently received. The floors are being redone with white tile. The aisle signs are of a new design that I have ...

Re: Holiday Hours Expanding
That is probably due to the labor shortage. They only have enough managers to staff a store until 7 PM. Opening later would require another manager, and they do not want to pay for that. Many chains do not even want to pay for an hour or two of overtime. So the store will not even stay open an hour ...

Re: Dollar Tree Raising Prices
Dollar Tree is very inconsistent. One store may be tidy, but another may look like a hurricane hit it. The ones I see in poorer neighborhoods look like a mess. They always have about 3 employees walking around doing anything but tidying up. I do not know what they are doing, but they are obviously n...

Re: Dollar Tree Raising Prices
Everything at my local store is now $1.25. It is an awful deal on many items now. Customer traffic is much lower now.

Re: Short staffed restaurants
I only went to Jack In The Box due to the free fries on their app. I regretted it. The fries were fried too long and were all dried up. I also picked up two mini chocolate cakes there on sale. The cakes had an expired date on them of 2011. Ten years ago... I assume it was a typo. I don't eat fast fo...

Re: Safeway San Francisco 2020 Market St closing at 9 PM
I can see many flaws with this design. The fences are too low and shoplifters can jump over them. The gates are also the kind you can just walk through. An alarm noise will not stop anyone. Some changes are needed such as a higher fence that you cannot jump under. The next will be to change the gate...
