Re: Harris Teeter/Kroger integration
Looking much more closely in Harris Teeter I saw a few things: 1. Actual Kroger brand items in seasonal. Joy of Gardening merchandise and HD Designs merchandise. 2. Kroger Plus Cards will NOT scan at Harris Teeter but each store has a generic/store card to use if someone has no card 3. The Harris T...

Re: [CONFIRMED] Albertsons FL converting to Safeway
I am really concerned the combined entity needs some new ideas (not just rehashed Safeway ideas which seems to be most of what is happening lately, as they seem to have run out of Albertsons ideas to bring to the table which appear to be performing questionably at best). They probably really need t...

Re: WalMart dropping Wild Oats organic roducts
I was surprised that Walmart was still selling Wild Oats products after Fresh & Easy went bye bye, but then I thought maybe the contract was protected between W/O (Yucaipa) and Walmart or it simply was taking so long for the product to sell (Wild Oats products did Not sell very well at all at W...

Re: Harris Teeter/Kroger integration
Another integration opportunity for Kroger are the store numbers assigned to all stores. I do not know if Kroger is proceeding in this direction in this format: In terms of divisions, I thought that there were letters involved, so the old Southwest-era numbering, so the Kroger near me was SW-607. T...

Re: Sears Holdings to close 78 MORE stores
Maybe Cerberus should try and take Kmart from Lampert and use it to resurrect S.S. Kresge. They could expand into dense urban areas with strong marketing to millennials. Just kidding, Kmart is not salvageable, it's too late. I don't think it's "too late". It would certainly be challenging...

I would love to see that but I can't really see that happening.reymann wrote:i think cerberus could right the ship with kmart. kmart needs to be spun off to private equity in order to have a prayer at survival

Re: The present and future of Randalls
Is it possible the trucks are stopping somewhere in the middle for some reason? Also do they go one way there and one way back? From what I've seen, the trucks go both ways. I remember seeing a truck pre-merger go westbound, and even after the merger, I saw one on 2818. Additionally, I've seen seve...

Re: Winn-Dixie Reveals Next generation Store
I don't see Albertsons touching this but it is low hanging fruit. Some hot ads would go a long ways in driving customer traffic and it would get Albertsons some good same store sales gains to make their strategies look effective. The "Signature" private label would be an improvement over ...

Re: Harris Teeter/Kroger integration
I do remember reading that there was a distaste for Kroger on social media comments when Harris Teeter was acquired. Considering that Kroger seems to have made more movement in integrating Roundy's (and of course, the Safeway/Albertsons integration continues to churn), maybe (just maybe), that Kroge...

Re: The present and future of Randalls
One of the other problematic features of Randalls is their trucks seem to go the wrong way when they go to Austin. (Pulling up Google Maps might help in this description)... The Randalls warehouse is off of Highway 290 in northwest Houston. Even though it's on the edge of town, it's not a bad locati...
