Re: Another Kroger decor package (possibly Hispanic oriented) in Arlington store
I've seen Ralphs stores in Southern California get this décor package within the last couple of years during remodels. It looks different in this store because the ceiling is so low that it had to be altered.

Re: Albertsons to buy Paul's Market
They've used that logo configuration for quite some time but not on all stores.
It looks nice when the area surrounding the sign is a square shape but looks odd in a rectangular setting, like on this Paul's.

Re: Ralph's Fresh Fare Indian Wells Closing
I wouldn't read too much into this. That stretch of Highway 111 through Palm Desert and Indian Wells is still valuable real estate. The customer base is wealthy but as mentioned above very seasonal. It's just that the competitive landscape changed dramatically. In past years you had a steady competi...

Re: The present and future of Randalls
I would be interested in knowing if they're profitable. They had narrowed down the locations to just their best performing stores and I was under the impression they were making good profits. Is there any reliable data out there that suggests they are now no longer profitable ?

Yelp is another potential resource. The photos are taken by shoppers and have dates posted.

Re: Smart & Final's former Haggen stores
If you walk around to the back of the sore, you can see that it started in life as an "A" frame store, which was Alpha-Beta's store design for years and years. They also list the 32nd and El Cajon Blvd store as a Food Basket, but I recall seeing a photo that showed it as an Alpha-Beta. Th...

Re: Kroger Co's Bring a Taste of Spain
Most American's don't know anything about Spanish food to begin with (I bet 80% would confuse it with Mexican). It's not particularly popular outside of Spain. I've been going to Spain at least once a year because of work for the last ten years and it took a while for me to find anything I liked. So...

Re: Albertsons remodeled to Colorful Lifestyle
Comparing the two Lifestyle decor packages, the original Lifestyle required an extensive investment in new shelving/display fixtures, spot lighting, and wiring for the department signage in order to be fully implemented. In cases where costs were cut, the package simply looked tacky as seen in some...
