Re: Stop & Shop closures

Oh and you haven't fully photographed the store with the Edwards decor you should. That is straight out of the late 90s/early 2000s when Giant-PA went to the large dual entrance stores. I'm amazed that Stop and Shop is still operating a store with that old, old decor. The only one in NJ is in Pisca...

Re: Stop & Shop closures

It sounds like they need to do something to basically dissolve it and split it up. They could move the remaining New England Stores that do well into Hannaford. Maybe C&S could take some of the other stores. What is the average store size of these Stop & Shop units? The ones I saw in the pa...

Re: Stop & Shop closures

Could they just rebrand some of these to Giant-PA format? Stop & Shop is very weak. Market Basket has been kicking them around for years. What I find strange is Hannaford seems to have smaller stores but seems run better and is more effective. I am not sure what the issue with Stop & Shop i...

Re: Stop & Shop closures

Of the pictures above that show store decor, they all have the yellow walls and purple writing decor package. At this point that decor is 20 years old. It wasn't a great decor, in my opinion, when it came out and now it just gets lost on the walls of the store. I guess Ahold is just not putting any...

Re: Stop & Shop closures

I'm back to thinking about the health of Stop & Shop. Back in November, their ecommerce facility in Jersey City closed , and the online shopping was switched to Instacart and DoorDash from the stores. More recently, people particularly in New York City note that Stop & Shop no longer deliver...

Shaw's Planning New VT Location

Shaw's is "strongly exploring" a new location in Johnson, VT . This location is a former Grand Union of just 13,000 square feet that became a C&S-owned Grand Union Family Market. Around 2010, it became an independent store called Johnson's Sterling Market affiliated with the Associated...

Re: ShopRite to Exit Albany

Actually, both of the stores on Central Avenue (Colonie and Albany) are moves. They have one in Westgate plaza, which is about 3 traffic lights west of the former Shoprite location, along with one just west of the 155 intersection, they say about 2 miles from the former Colonie Shoprite (but it see...

Re: ShopRite to Exit Albany

Four of the five ShopRites are set to become Market 32. Slingerlands is not. The Colonie location is set to move.

Which store? I'm not sure I see the resemblance in the Norwalk ShopRite, which is the one I linked.
