Re: Walmart observations
I returned to Walmart Supercenter twice in the past month. Regular checkouts were manned and moving fast. I wonder if stores in my area are operating better than other areas.

Re: Red Robin Attempting Comeback
Red Robin is good for the bottomless fries. Its burgers are good and have opportunities for improvement.
I would not mind seeing Red Robin open additional locations.

Re: Kroger to sell 10 Harris Teeter stores in D.C., Virginia and Maryland to Piggly Wiggly owner
Those Nashville H-T Stores were basically a joke. Prices were too high, they were not well located, business was very slow. They just seemed "off." But I also think the H-T Stores in DC/MD/VA seem "off" compared to the NC/SC H-T operation (which is excellent). But DC/MD/VA isn't...

Re: Publix in Cincinnati?
Kroger's Cincinnati operation is very different from Kroger's Atlanta operation. Higher operating standards in Cincinnati. Further, at the point Publix went into Atlanta, and during the time period Publix built up its share in Atlanta against Kroger, Kroger did not have Marketplace Stores, did not ...

Re: Kroger to sell 10 Harris Teeter stores in D.C., Virginia and Maryland to Piggly Wiggly owner
Harris Teeter isn't unionized, so swapping banners with Safeway wouldn't be easy. Kroger has "deunionized" stores in the past by giving them to HT, but there's too much regulatory scrutiny of this merger to do that here. Funny thing as the opposite happened in the Nashville market. Harris...

Re: ALDI to acquire Winn-Dixie
That’s quite the headline, but it looks like ALDI is taking on Winn-Dixie and Harvey’s, although possibly not Fresco y Mas? This marks ALDI’s entrance into the traditional supermarket business, but they say they may convert some stores: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/aldi-to-acquire-winn-...
