Re: Wendy's New Frosty Flavor
I tried it Friday and was impressed. I tend to not like peppermint flavored items (other than actual mints) so I did not try the peppermint Frosty. I didn’t like the Shamrock peppermint shakes at McDonalds.

Re: Mcdonald's Phasing Out Self Serve Drinks
Yeah this sounds like a way to keep people from getting a water cup and getting soda, or getting refills. But if I’m dining in, I’m not going to upgrade my drink size. Wendy’s when the soda machine was behind the counter, would issue a new cup for refills. Also McDonalds is the only fast food restau...

Re: Walmart observations
This varies by store. They have been so short labor for so long that some things just slip through... This is the type of thing the health inspection should look at but evidently isn't. Could lead to mold, etc. You would think so, especially with foul smells in the milk dept and dirty floors with o...

Re: Walmart observations
Interestingly enough, the Temecula store renovated all the freezers and coolers without replacing them. Haven't seen that before. All the doors, shelves, and interior metal cabinet panels were replaced so they look completely new and clean to the customer. They were filthy and vile before, plus lot...

Re: Walmart observations
I’ve noticed Walmart’s refrigerated sections seem unappealing. The milk section always, always smells strongly of spoiled milk when I open the doors and the floors back in the cooler look like they haven’t been cleaned in ages. The frozen food sections are also messily organized and there are parts ...

Celebrations by Party City “Store within a store” at new Winn Dixie?
I noticed in photos that the new Apopka Winn Dixie that just opened has a section with “Celebrations by Party City” signage over it. It also has a tagline “Decorations for the Winn”. Is this a common thing to have Party City sections in other stores? This is a section with the greeting cards, birthd...

Re: ALDI to acquire Winn-Dixie
To be fair, this is actually a WD decision, as the sale won’t finalized until into next year.bryceleinan wrote: ↑August 19th, 2023, 7:50 pm Saw the same thing on X/Twitter. Rumored to be the 3 letter chain.

Re: ALDI to acquire Winn-Dixie
If they try to Aldi-fy WD/Harvey’s expect to lose many customers. Southeners have major brand loyalty and they expect departments like bakeries and full service meat departments. They can’t just sell Kraft mayonnaise as their sole national brand and not sell Duke’s., or vacuum-packed meat cuts. Ful...

Re: ALDI to acquire Winn-Dixie
Read a blurb on Reddit that all Winn Dixie pharmacies will close by December. Not surprising considering WD had closed so many on their own the last few years. But it certainly points to the fact that Aldo has zero plans to keep any Winn Dixie stores in tact. I hate the blight that this is going to ...

Re: ALDI to acquire Winn-Dixie
Well that was definitely sudden news… My guess is while most Winn Dixie stores are too big to convert to Aldi per se, that’s what we’ll see. And towns like mine that already have Aldi will end up with one or two vacant Winn Dixie’s. Probably still quite a bit of empty stores. Not a lot of independen...
