Re: Ralphs Fresh Fare Santa Barbara remodel
I like using Google Reviews and Yelp reviews to find pictures. Ralphs Fresh Fare stores with this new decor include Brea, Anaheim Hills, Foothill Ranch, Laguna Niguel, Camarillo, and a few others. The main highlight is a ugly, stenciled wall on either filthy nasty reclaimed barn wood or really chea...

Re: Oxnard's only Ralphs closing May 2024
The architecture inside definitely is not Ralphs of that era. They were already building the lower perimeter, raised center ceiling format. And the graphics don't match anything of the era either. So must have been intended to be Hughes. Also reminds me a lot of Alpha-Beta with those weird 45 degree...

Re: Ralphs Fresh Fare Santa Barbara remodel
I did visit a tiny little Fresh Fare in Camarillo, and it had been remodeled to the horrendous barnwood reclaimed decor. I've heard a few people on this forum talking about how awful the reclaimed barnwood decor is, but I haven't been able to find pictures. Can someone post a link or a picture? I l...

Re: 30+ new Whole Foods leased, more on the way
I was (pleasantly) surprised to see several local brands return to Whole Foods in Phoenix. Just a couple of years ago they eliminated almost all local product. Someone figured out that people who shop at Whole Foods want to buy local. Although they've made a lot of mistakes, the problems originated...

Re: Ralphs Fresh Fare Santa Barbara remodel
Gelson's in Santa Barbara is a divested Albertsons from 1999, it was a smaller late 70's/early 80's style store. Department placement sort of gave it away years ago but at this point you'd never know. I was never too impressed with the perimeter execution at that Ralphs in Santa Barbara. While it w...

Re: Ralphs Fresh Fare Santa Barbara remodel
Has anyone been in the Fresh Fares in Huntington Beach lately? do they still look fresh fare look? The busier one on Warner looked spectacular a few months ago. That has been one of the best run Ralphs in the entire chain since the day it opened. Had some minor cleaning issues but that was it, and ...

Re: Aldi announces 800-store expansion as it completes Southeastern Grocers acquisition
The goal of the merger is to get bigger, so they want to keep the number of divested stores to a minimum. Can we repost this sentence in like one hundred point type? I am not sure why this is so hard to understand. Some really wacky proposals that keep getting floated here, my favorites usually add...

Re: Gov Newsom leaves Panera Exempt from CA Min Wage?
There are more exemptions to this law. If the restaurant is in an airport, hotel, casino, theme park, beach, museum, racetracks, stadiums, event centers, corporate cafeteria, pier, Port, park concession, etc. There are so many exceptions. What if you set up your own museum at your restaurant? What ...

Re: Wal Mart Remove Self Checkouts
Went into that Kietzke Store- this time, 14 self checkouts open but no cashiers open. I have no clue what they're doing. The self checkout units at the general merchandise exit are shut off and the entire area is blocked by carts. I did ask about that as I was leaving since there is still a greeter...
