Re: Eddie Bauer dumbs down logo for GenZ
Yesterday I was in an Eddie Bauer store for the first time in a while, and was somewhat surprised to see that the new logo was basically non-existent. Out of the entire store, I think I saw all of one item that even had the new logo on it, and that wasn't even clothing. Given the fact that the logo ...

Knott's Berry Farm jams discontinued
https://www.today.com/food/news/knotts-berry-farm-grocery-brand-discontinued-rcna135353 The Knott's Berry Farm brand of jams has quietly been discontinued by the JM Smucker Company. The cookies sold under the same brand name are licensed to a different company, and are still being produced. In the m...

Re: Target "Self Checkout Hours" 11 AM to 7 PM
After several visits it seems to me the Target I shop at (Greensboro Lawndale) does pretty consistently keep at least three regular checkstands open, although this is a store with only four self checkout lanes (plus one in the "snack bar" area.) One thing I've noticed about this store is t...

Re: Walmart 2023 Closings
Sounds a lot like the situation at Factoria (Bellevue WA), where a Walmart went into a former Mervyn's space (single level, about 70k SF) next door to an existing Target. The Walmart store was small (probably the smallest "Supercenter" store I've seen), awkward, and did poorly enough that ...

WcDonald's
https://www.today.com/food/restaurants/mcdonalds-wcdonalds-anime-rcna139995 For years, various Japanese Animes and Mangas have used fictionalized versions of McDonald's for various story purposes, often by flipping the Golden Arches logo upside down and renaming the restaurant to WcDonald's. Startin...

Re: EG Group exit from Davenport, IA
The way the article phrases it. It sounds like another operator bought the stations out of the Mountain Express bankruptcy and then tried to impose major rent increases on Brew, resulting in the shutdowns.

Re: Golden Corral All You Can Eat Butterfly Shrimp & Chicken Tenders
At the Golden Corral we went to drinks are not self serve, you have to get them from your server. Cici's pizza has a soda machine, but if you want water you have to buy bottled water (although it's not overly expensive, I think something like 50 cents per bottle.)

Re: Golden Corral All You Can Eat Butterfly Shrimp & Chicken Tenders
I'm pretty sure everyone in Utah has some vomitous variation on the Chuck-a-Rama name (In our family it was "Upchuck-a-Rama", my wife called it the "Barf-o-Rama") but the same is probably true for a lot of buffet places.

Re: Golden Corral All You Can Eat Butterfly Shrimp & Chicken Tenders
In Washington buffets seemed to be living on borrowed time before COVID, and pretty much all folded quickly afterward. By now I think all the tribal casinos in the area that had buffets before 2020 have eliminated them and repurposed the spaces (shortly after COVID Washington legalized sports bettin...

Re: CA to ban disposable cups at restaurants for eat in
Circle K still uses foam cups here, as do a lot of other places (Chick-fil-A, Cook Out, Bojangles and most of the C-stores all come to mind.) Quik Trip offers the Big Q size drinks in either plastic or foam cup, charging slightly more for foam. Most other places have switched to plastic, but oddly e...
