Re: 99 cents only calls it quits
Like so many stores, 99 cents only used to be a fun place to shop. Stores were clean and it was like going on a treasure hunt. Within the last ten years, the stores became a little messier and the "finds" were fewer and farther between. Recently, their stores were downright messy and anyth...

Re: Oscar Mayer Plant-based NotHotDogs
They had (or maybe still have) a line of uncured, all-beef hot dogs that weren't bad. I switched to the Whole Foods brand and never looked back.storewanderer wrote: ↑March 16th, 2024, 11:34 pm Also in the past thought the Oscar Mayer Beef Franks were okay...
PS: Skip the Applegate Farms all-beef hot dogs. They are pretty bad.

It's not just malls in America. It is a worldwide problem. Take a gander at the dead malls subreddit and you will see.ClownLoach wrote: ↑March 28th, 2024, 9:41 am...What is the problem with malls in America when they're still successful elsewhere?

Re: Trader Joe's opening in northern Idaho
...As Trader Joe's has grown, I feel that some of the core items I used to buy have suffered. They stopped carrying akmak entirely... not sure if it was the bakery couldn't supply the quantity they wanted, or if they were insisting on private label rights. ... Regarding ak-mak, I think it is the ba...

Unfortunately the links are broken. Yeah sorry about that, I posted that from my phone and now I can't seem to fix it so here you go. Picture Store Tour Hi Market Report Blog, as you seem to be on the other side of the country, here is a link to a LARGE Kroger-owned store built from the ground up w...

Re: Macys Closing Stores by 2026
If I didn't prefer the Biltmore Macy's to the Fashion Square Macy's, I would disagree with you arizonaguy and suggest Biltmore become the Bloomingdale's. Given the presence of Sak's, Bloomingdale's would do well. However, you are right: the Fashion Square Macy's is pretty dismal and Bloomie's fits b...

Re: 30+ new Whole Foods leased, more on the way
I was (pleasantly) surprised to see several local brands return to Whole Foods in Phoenix. Just a couple of years ago they eliminated almost all local product. Someone figured out that people who shop at Whole Foods want to buy local.

...When they went this way they also reduced the sizes kept in store substantially, forcing many customers to order online where it is easy to find the same product from a competitor for less. Prior to the fulfillment warehouses, they always kept every size in stock even if they didn't have room on...

Re: Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions Cutting Store Hours
Looks like effective last Monday, most Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions will be open 6AM - 10PM. Previously, these stores were open until 11PM and some opened at 5AM. Prior to the pandemic, many were open until 12AM-2AM. It’s only been recently that some locations near Los Angeles saw their hours expanded...
