Re: Smiths remodels Dayton, NV Store
It looks like the store has different decor for the drug store side. It is sort of like a Albertsons Sav-On combo. The drug store side seems to have a lot of wood on the shelves and wood decorations hanging from the ceiling. Usually, the wooden decorations hanging from the ceiling are found over the...

Re: Safeway Lifestyle signage problems
In my area, Safeway has recently been replacing the old signs with the new signs. I haven't seen the signs at night. However, it is the local or regional sign maker that is responsible for a low quality product. The signs are installed during the day and maybe they were not tested in the dark. If yo...

Re: Asian Markets Dublin,CA
Do just not like the dirtiness factor of some Asian markets?
You should watch Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel. That guy has gone all over and eaten all sorts of strange stuff like frogs, bugs, worms, scorpions, etc.

Re: CVS closes Longs Contract Postal Unit
CVS seems to like to do things to really annoy customers. It's a great way to lose customers for life.
Pretty soon the stores will be more empty than Rite Aid.

Re: Asian Markets Dublin,CA
Are you opposed to Asians coming into the area or just Asian supermarket chains?

Re: Recession be damned! Systemax opens 30 CompUSA stores
I had already noticed the new CompUSA website over a year ago. They used to have photos of each of the new CompUSA stores to prove that the CompUSA name was not dead. These new stores seem to be run very differently from the original CompUSA stores. However, a lot of people still despise the CompUSA...

Quik Stop Commercials
I just saw a Quik Stop commercial today on a San Francisco Bay Area local channel. I had no idea that it was a company that started in the San Francisco Bay Area. It now features the Kroger Convenience Store logo. I looked up the locations and they have many in the Bay Area, however none are very cl...

Re: Partial QFC remodels
So they have modified the QFC decor to look more like a Kroger? Is the store in the middle of a remodel or have they just done a few changes pending a later full remodel? It seems that Kroger is not using Starbucks for their supermarket coffee stands anymore. I know SBC is owned by Starbucks, but SB...

Re: Rite Aid Sells All San Francisco Stores
I don't think that it is a FTC monopoly issue. Walgreens already had a monopoly in San Francisco already. In San Francisco alone, Walgreens has 59 stores. Rite Aid only has 42 stores in all of the Bay Area. Seven stores is a very insignificant number. However, labor unions can be quite vocal at the ...

Re: Costco Home stores to close
Furniture stores today always seem to be empty. I can see why Costco is closing these stores. I don't know how furniture stores can survive these days. I have seen furniture stores inside of Macy's, but they are just a single department inside of the store. There is one stand-alone JCPenney Furnitur...
