Re: Kroger Pharmacies (all divisions) to stop accepting Express Scripts 1/1/23
CVS picked up the majority of TRICARE beneficiaries in our area, since they were the first pharmacy listed on the mailer TRICARE sent out. I received something similar from the state, and we’re using Safeway / Walmart/Costco/Raley’s for right now.

Re: C-A-L Ranch and Coastal Farm & Ranch Stores merging
True Value seems to be losing locations over the years. First one I noticed going was in Truckee, many years ago, flipped to Ace. More recently, Grass Valley True Value flipped to Ace. I think some others have gone lately too. Coastal strikes me as having more to offer on hard goods than C-A-L Ranc...

Re: C-A-L Ranch and Coastal Farm & Ranch Stores merging
Both chains are members of Mid-States Distributing, so no major changes on that front. C-A-L is also a True Value customer and has some full-line True Value stores, so I imagine Coastal will pick up those lines. Having shopped at both, I’m more of a fan of Coastal. What’s interesting is that this is...

Re: Subway Considers Sale
Subway is going to go one of two ways: one, private equity, or two, to an exsisting franchisor. Considering Inspire has Jimmy Johns and RBI has Firehouse, Fat Brands, MTY/Kahala, or Yum are about the three groups that would make sense, and this seems like a Yum-size acquisition.

Re: Kroger Pharmacies (all divisions) to stop accepting Express Scripts 1/1/23
CVS has been accepting state Medicaid(Medi-Cal) in California for quite a while. Walgreens appears to have stopped taking Medi-Cal in recent years. Walgreens sometimes just claims not to take an insurance because they are understaffed and don't want to fill any more prescriptions that day. I really...

Re: Raleys Major Remodel Reno-Keystone Ave.
Raleys is finally doing a major remodel to this store in Reno on Keystone. This is a very old building, the last time it was remodeled in the mid 90's was also a major remodel but after close to 30 years that job they did in the mid 90's is very run down now. They are closing the store through this...

Re: Kroger Pharmacies (all divisions) to stop accepting Express Scripts 1/1/23
There is one major loser in this decision: military members and their families on TRICARE. They already lost access to Walmart/Sam's, and now Kroger got the boot. In some areas (like where I live in Northern Nevada), a Kroger-owned pharmacy is the only name in town. Some large employers (State of N...

Re: Safeway Portland- sectioning off high theft items/separate checkout
Given the state of Portland lately, I’m not shocked in the least. If you follow the Sherwood Police Department on Facebook, you can see the tremendous amount of shoplifting, and a lot of it stems from the grocery stores / Target / Walmart on Tualatin-Sherwood / Pacific Hwy. They said that unlike oth...
