Cambridge investments is the franchisee for the california locations not affiliated with marlu. the arby's in santa maria closed not too long ago. the franchise is very cheap and has been slowly closing locations.

the arby's franchise in fresno seems like it is winding down operations in california. they have minimal staffing at both locations and are drive thru only, i think they will likely be closing soon unless they find a buyer.

some stores are now reducing the hours they are open due to high crime. 9pm or 10pm could become the new norm for the supermarket if theft isn't curbed. maybe late nights will be limited to instacart and curbside pickup only.

i honestly think san francisco is the next detroit at this point. i think they will be forced to file chapter 9 bankruptcy in the next year or two. things are just that bad in the city.

the mass exodus of businesses in san francisco puts chapter 9 municipal bankruptcy in play for the city within the next couple of years. oakland may be another city that could be teetering on the brink of municipal bankruptcy.

i have a feeling that soon enough, that they might try a curbside pickup/delivery only model where all items must be preordered from the website to keep shoplifters out.

this a trend of what is happening in the bay area. people have either moved or not returned to the office and tourism has not recovered since the pandemic. i'm anticipating more businesses shuttering in the bay area before it is all said and done.

I'm just waiting to hear that BBB is liquidating the rest of their stores at this point. Once they file bankruptcy, the creditors will win.
