Re: Macys Stores Closing by 2026
They have made it clear they will consolidate as opportunities come along. As stated earlier they are negotiating to finalize plans for consolidation in Mission Viejo where the women's building will be replaced by luxury apartments. If they own the building there is no benefit to consolidation with...

Re: Macys Stores Closing by 2026
I continue to be surprised that the company hasn't been consolidating the men's / home / kids / backstage stores with their main stores in some markets. I figured some of the 150 would come from that, but it's obvious many of the full-line stores needed to go. Some do seem ripe to be replaced by sm...

Re: McDonald's and Krispy Kreme
McDonald's will sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts in every US restaurant, rolling out through 2026. Wonder how they will be able to do that, particularly in areas where there is no Krispy Kreme anywhere nearby (like here around Albany, NY - the nearest KK locations are CT or NJ, just over 100 miles away)...

Re: McDonald's and Krispy Kreme
This test was in locations: https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/product/krispy-kreme-mcdonalds-locations.html They are selling only 3 flavors, Original Glazed, Chocolate Kreme, and Chocolate Sprinkle. I pulled up multiple for ordering these, and multiple only had some products available not all prod...

They are telling CO that the number of divests is increasing. They think this will get CO to drop its lawsuit against the merger. https://www.msn.com/en-ae/money/companies/colorado-s-bid-to-halt-kroger-albertsons-merger-set-for-august-hearing/ar-BB1kwqUz "An attorney for Kroger, Matthew Wolf, ...

Re: 31k sq ft Macys to open in Elk Grove, CA
This has me shaking my head. It looks to be less than half the size of the neighboring Target. What is their focus going to be, certainly not home goods. Higher-end cosmetics? Expensive shoes? Both Macy's in downtown Sacramento and Arden Fair are a 20-30 minute drive, why would you visit a mini-Mac...

McDonald's and Krispy Kreme
McDonald's will sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts in every US restaurant, rolling out through 2026. Massive win here for Krispy Kreme as they make more than they can sell, but have the classic manufacturing dilemma of the more they make the less each unit costs. McDonald's could potentially take lots of d...

Re: Restaurant Adoption of pay-by-phone systems
I will not do any money related functions on my phone. A restaurant offering this as the only payment option will alienate quite a few customers. At this point, as long as you don't fall for scams, you're much safer using applications like Apple Pay or Google Wallet instead of your physical card. T...

Re: Tabletop tablets in chain restaurants
That QR code scam is scary. Exxon and Mobil have QR code stickers on their gas pumps. It would be easy for criminals to post fake QR codes on these pumps. I have used the QR codes in the past. It was only recently that I soley use the ExxonMobil app to pay. I believe it was the Walmart app that let...

Re: "Generic" Walgreens?
That looks very similar to some of the original California builds which were usually on gas station corners. They probably had some sort of signage and/or architectural restrictions in this location. It also looks very suspiciously like a former bank.
