Re: 7-Eleven buying large chunk of Sunoco
It looks like 7-11 isn’t going to drop the Speedway brand anytime soon. One of my nearest Speedway stations seemingly closed up overnight last week and the property was stripped of signage, pumps, everything! (Someone forgot to tell Amazon apparently as there is still a running pickup locker sittin...

Re: Target Paid Membership Program?
There are also gig work apps like "Field Agent" currently available that are intended to generate exception reports for retailers and reduce the need for District Managers and even Store Managers... Apps that tell customers to look for certain items and take pictures of them in a store, o...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
When they were first posted, it was suggested that it was one of the tax prep companies, as they might pre-schedule people to hold such signs as advertising as they get closer to the date for filing taxes - n Interesting possibility. I know Liberty Tax services (I still think thats a pretty ironic ...

Re: Target Paid Membership Program?
No mention if RedCard members lose the free shipping but I assume they do as that was always supposed to be a limited time promotion. According to a blurb in my Target app, Free shipping is still there for RedCard (now Circlecard. Target surely loves changing names of things!) Of course a lot of it...

Re: Best Buy not satisfied with big earnings, more layoffs and closures
And the same exact story can be told about the appliance business, Best Buy vs Home Depot, Lowe's, Costco etc. There is zero margin in computers, the only prayer of a profit lies in high margin accessories and warranties which again they laid off the people who up sell those items. Sometimes I hone...

Lol, that's exactly what I think of about Macy'sarizonaguy wrote: ↑February 25th, 2024, 9:22 am
When I think of Dillard's I think of a dark, dreary store with clothing that is overpriced and not in style. It's a place I don't picture many people under the age of 60 shopping at.

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
Will be interesting to see which east coast markets they do ad buys in. Or if this is all digital. For the past couple months, this ad was the only one I saw run on TV, on stations in both the Detroit and Toledo markets, so those new ads probably will end up on TV too. I've seen that ad in the Phil...

Re: Thrifty Ice Cream now at Vons/Albertsons
Hope they don't get control of this product and reformulate it like their Lucerne and Signature Ice Creams, both are terrible quality ice cream. Similar to their terrible quality store brand breads. I'm on the other Coast, but I've never found an issue with Signature Ice Cream (I pick it up once in...

Re: Stop & Shop closures
I'd imagine that ShopRite is so strong being the native NJ chain that it is hard to compete with them. This is the big one here. I don't think Stop & Shop has ever done particularly well in NJ. They pretty much exited the Southern NJ market several years ago. As far as the other divisions, Gian...
