Re: WcDonald's / Domestically

I think McDonald's is suffering from sky high prices, and no new food ideas. The food is another issue. They still haven't undone the menu damage from COVID (no Fruit & Yogurt Parfait). They really need to loosen up in regional menu items and franchisee freedom to experiment. No salads. No gril...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: Southwest & Hawai'i Impact

Kroger has never had brick and mortar stores there. The only familiarity with the brand would be for people that moved from Texas or another place where Kroger operates. I can't see this venture being successful as a grocery delivery operation started from the ground up. Though, that really isn't m...

Re: Stop & Shop closures

Haven't checked outside of NJ, but the thing about the NJ stores is that so few of them had pharmacies to begin with. 57 stores in NJ 34 have pharmacies, 23 don't 8 had pharmacies that closed 15 never had pharmacies Quite a few of the NJ stores were acquired from Grand Union or Norkus Foodtown down...

Re: Stop & Shop closures

Ahold offloading BI-LO: similar situation happened with Tops. Tops also went bankrupt, and they were sold to Price Chopper/Golub. Tops was in Northeast Ohio (Cleveland) at one time (their stores there were formerly Finast), but Ahold exited Northeast Ohio in 2006, selling the Tops stores there piec...

Seems like they might work well, as other places do fish tacos, which are going to be somewhat similar.

Re: Dollar General and the like.....

As long as the end price is decent with a digital coupon I will use it. The problem I am seeing with HBA items is that the grocers and drug stores regular pricing is astronomical as compared to Walmart and Target. When paper coupons were all that was out there, you could use the paper coupon at Wal...

Re: Digital Coupons

ShopRite stores seem to have a kiosk by Customer Service where I'm assuming the less tech-savvy folks can get assistance with loading coupons to their account (probably still an occasional nightmare for staff to deal with, but better than nothing). Do other chains have such things? Here's an articl...

Re: Dollar General and the like.....

Dollar Tree will accept manufacturer coupons also... if the item qualifies. I've never seen anyone redeem a coupon there. Right, the issue is that the coupons for CVS etc. are digital, thus only good at that store(s). There have been very few paper ones as of late, and the ones that I saw for Colga...

Re: CA to ban disposable cups at restaurants for eat in

I also find it ironic these fast foods used to use almost exclusively paper cups. The plastic cups are recent within the past few years. That was a result of the plastic bag bans, increased demand for paper bags, and price being driven up on paper cups. So places switched to plastic cups. McDonalds...

Re: Dollar General and the like.....

The Colgate is interesting. Last I saw Colgate Total 1.3oz Tube at Dollar Tree. Cost of 1.25. Meanwhile the 3.3oz Colgate Total size at Walgreens is 4.00 on sale (use coupons get register reward pay almost nothing net) regular 5.49, costs 5.29 at Rite Aid and CVS... Interesting you mention toothpas...
