Scolari's now offers donuts at its two remaining stores. They installed small little cases that hold 3 rows of about 12 donuts each row. No clue how they are making them since they have no bakery but they are definitely store prepared donuts based on the flavor. Maybe they are a thaw and sell product. They seem to be trying.

Raleys has commenced a remodeling project at the 4788 Caughlin Store. They have removed all of the 1992 vintage wall lettering from the walls. They have also decided to cover up the old 1992 vintage mint condition white floor with some gray flooring that hides dirt (doesn't need to be cleaned or waxed much, but isn't a cement floor).

Scolaris seems to have run through its supply of branded bags and is now using generic paper bags and "thank you" plastic bags that look like they came from some sort of independent take out restaurant. Other than that things look as before; little promotion in center store and same small two page ad every week with some very attractive produce and meat specials.

Re: Raleys to buy 6 of 8 remaining Scolaris Stores
Sparks Scolaris has been slowly liquidating off most of its non-food aisles in recent months and converting the space into large paper product departments. There was a lot of really old stuff sitting around the store but at this point they have 2-3 aisles that are pretty much dead space and it isn't exactly a large store.
Tonight they have signs up that say "Pardon our dust we are upgrading our store to improve your shopping experience" or some wording along those lines. The signs are printed in full color and also contain their logo.
They also have plastic bags again with their logo on them. These bags are slightly different from the old bags they had, but generally the same.
I will be interested to see what exactly this means. I have a suspicion it means expand the casino space adjacent to the store. But maybe the store will get some sort of light remodel out of the deal.
