Kroger said the new warehouse, which will fill online orders of fresh groceries, will also help solve some of the food desert issues in southern Dallas and create jobs for area residents.
Dallas is also giving them a $5.7 million tax break.

I find it interesting how many of these warehouses they are announcing before they even have one open and see how this concept goes.

There went the cap for 3-4 more new build Marketplace Stores. Maybe Albertsons will build some stores instead to try to get some share back. Too bad when the superior merchandiser has misguided use of its capex and the inferior and extremely overpriced operator is using its capex to beef up its store base in growing areas.

Target and Walmart seem to be trying to use its store base to double as warehouses. Why is Kroger spending a ton of money on an online only warehouse when grocery delivery isn't as large as everyone seems to be making it out to be?

Can these be repurposed into traditional warehouses if this delivery project fails?
