Another great "everywhere must do this" rule from Kroger Corporate. What happened to letting the divisions make their own decisions?

No more free news publication racks. I do not think Smiths has had these racks for years at least in my immediate area, but think the rural stores may still have these racks.
Up at Lake Tahoe the local newspapers are distributed on these racks and various tourism and real estate related publications and they are at all the stores; Safeway, Rite Aid, gas stations, etc.

Harris Teeter has them but it tends mainly to be real estate and seniors publications rather than the alt-weeklies.
