New Seasons Market To Be Acquired!

Post by marshd1000 »

Looks like New Season's Markets will be sister stores to Bristol Farms and Metropolitan Market and Lazy Acres!

It also looks like that the New Seasons banner will disappear from the Seattle market. The Mercer Island store will become Metropolitan Market by mid 2020. The fairly new Ballard store will close and plans for a New Seasons in Central Seattle are cancelled!

PCC is quite similar to New Seasons, so this seems to be a logical fit.

How big was the New Seasons supposed to be, it sounds like PCC is not taking the same amount of space as New Seasons was going to take.

They are curiously silent on New Searsons in San Jose. I wonder what will happen to that. Their NorCal expansion basically halted after they closed the location in Santa Clara after a very short time period.

There is nothing new to really report but an observation. I know that the Mercer Island New Seasons Market is slated to become Metropolitan Market by mid-year. When I was last there before COVID, I had been told that the conversion would begin in May. I have not driven by lately. In April there was no signs of remodeling. I am thinking they are going to delay the conversion until things are settled into what I am calling, “the new abnormal”!
