When visiting the local Bartell Drugs location to pick up a prescription today, I saw something rather unusual on the shelves:. Girl Scout Cookies. Since the Girl Scouts had to call off their annual sale early due to the pandemic (presumably leaving a large quantity of unsold inventory), it looks like Girl Scout Cookies may be showing up in stores, at least temporarily. The price was the same $5 per box that the Girl Scouts charge, and a sign indicated that they were partnering with the Girl Scouts to sell the cookies due to the current situation.
Has anyone else seen these anywhere?
Edit: Found a page on the Bartell website about this:

Surprising more areas haven't tried this - seems like a good way to do it. The group still gets the items sold, and if people are cutting down on trips, they're more likely to visit your store over another brand so they can get these as well as whatever else they need.

Re: Girl Scout Cookies being sold at retail
Especially in states such as Idaho which have been known to go after Girl Scouts for not collecting sales taxes on cookies...it would make more sense to place them in stores.BillyGr wrote: ↑May 20th, 2020, 5:57 pm Surprising more areas haven't tried this - seems like a good way to do it. Re: Girl Scout Cookies being sold at retail
Washington doesn't charge sales tax on grocery items, so that's not a consideration in this case.
