Walgreens to test drone deliveries

Next month, Walgreens will be partnering with Wing (a company affiliated with Google) to test delivery of products by drone in Christianburg Virginia, offering delivery of a relatively limited number of (presumably lightweight) products on a drone capable of lifting a payload of about 3 pounds with a range of around 12 miles. The location was selected due to its close proximity to Virginia Tech, which has been working with Wing on drone technology.
