Shopko Hometown now open Ely, NV

Post by storewanderer »

Looks like they have a new decor. Lime green walls and cement floor.

This building is actually an old 1970's Safeway, then Farmer Jack, then IGA. Eventually the IGA operator relocated with a new store in the mid 90's, which eventually turned into a Jubilee, which eventually turned into Ridley's.

I'd have to see that in person, but that interior looks downright cheap. Especially with those polished concrete floors. Reminds me of those failed lime green experimental Kmart stores. Shopko stores typically look much nicer than that.

The lime green Kmart stores were weird (lime green really doesn't work as a store interior), but they were nicer than that (at least initially), kind of like a mirror-verse 1990s Target.
