Iowa City is home to the University of Iowa, and there's lots of apartments near this K-Mart.

They'll do fine.

So with a college nearby this seems like a well thought out concept. Its quite expensive (for a college student) to use the dorm washers and perhaps Kmart could even implement a college tie-in...
