Bob's in Longview has evolved over the years into a store that now mainly focuses on sporting goods, and is now under the third generation of the same family ownership.

There is a neat picture in the article that shows how their location (not including a separate annex building across the parking lot) has been expanded over the years, and is mostly what the store looks like today although the building has received a new sloped roof in recent years.

We had a store locally here that was more of a general discounter, but their store was built exactly the same (section wise), just from right to left (as the road there ran to the right of the store).

Unfortunately that one didn't survive, like so many smaller discount stores.

Bob's operated as sort-of a general discounter for years, but after Walmart arrived in town decided to mainly focus on sporting goods, but they do have an annex building (which at one point was the sporting goods building) which now has housewares and a few other items. They do fill a niche as there isn't much in the way of local competition in this area.
