Blockbuster Video closing remaining stores

I am surprised that the remaining stores held on as long as they did. However, they truly are the "last man standing" in some areas as competing chains such as Hollywood Video have already closed, and the majority of independent video stores have shut down. Redbox, Netflix, etc. did not help things either.

One still open in Reno and one still open in Sparks. I think there might still be one in Carson City too. I believe all of these are corporate so that is it.

50 franchise stores supposedly are staying open.

Blockbuster was not the best company in the world, but at least it was a place where you could go and browse movies. It is much harder to just stumble upon some unique and interesting movies online. Sometimes you just have to see the actual box and read the synopsis in person. I liked looking at the artwork on the video boxes and DVD boxes.
