Wendy's is planning to expand their breakfast menu to all locations in 2020, up from roughly 300 locations currently. I've only had their breakfast at a now closed airport location at Sea-Tac but thought it was reasonably good. Not exceptional, but better than McDonald's in the same airport.

Wendy's has attempted breakfast a number of times over the years, but it seems like every time they stopped serving breakfast after a matter of months. In fact, the only place I have ever had it was at an airport location. I hope that they can pull this off, as I would like to see another option. If they can carry their quality over to breakfast and be consistent about it, they could be successful with this.

Just curious if this has been rolled out in any new locations yet. My local Wendy's is not serving breakfast yet, and I haven't seen anything else mentioned yet.

The new build Wendys in Sparks, NV is serving breakfast. This is the first location for the franchisee in question that serves breakfast.

A Wendy's also opened in the past few weeks in Auburn, CA. It is also serving breakfast. Only 3 of the 20+ other locations around Sacramento serve it. These are all franchise locations now but back during the first go around of Wendy's serving breakfast these were corporate operated locations and were almost all serving breakfast.

So it appears they are (forcing?) serving it at new locations now...

I haven't seen any marketing or anything about this either. Last time they tried breakfast, despite only offering it in my area at 4 locations (1 Wal Mart, 1 gas station, 1 freestanding, 1 Pilot Truck Stop), there was very heavy marketing. The Wal Mart one has since stopped offering breakfast, though I think it may still take orders for it on their app as it has its hours posted wrong. Also as of last week, the Wal Mart one has one credit card pinpad wrapped in a trash bag, the other credit card pinpad simply missing from its stand, and continues to be in filth and other disrepair. This type of operation and poor franchise operator is not helping Wendys case any. The other two area operators do a good job.

The Wendy's we went to last night (Silver Lake, Everett WA) had some "Breakfast coming soon" posters in the windows. No date shown though.

Supposedly it is coming March 2. I wonder if it will be "all day." They don't seem to be saying. If it isn't "all day" they probably shouldn't even bother.

The will need to serve coffee drinks for breakfast to work. Coffee is by far the #1 breakfast purchase and it can also be high margin. No one expects Wendy's coffee to be amazing but non-serving coffee drinks will ensure this breakfast experiment doesn't last long.

They have some coffee things like iced coffee and a coffee mixed with frosty (this is either going to be interesting or disgusting) but almost as much space on the menu boards seems to be going to "Dave's Craft Lemonade" ??

Most of this is the same breakfast menu they rolled out a few years ago. Same honey chicken biscuit. Same "oat bar," same microwaved frozen egg and sauage burrito (tastes better than it sounds- they seem to be a lot better at microwaving a frozen burrito than I am), same potato wedges (excellent product), I guess the breakfast Baconator is new but you could have gotten that before by ordering any item with extra bacon on it...

I am not really sure how or why they expect this to be successful now if it wasn't successful a few years ago. It is too similar to what they tried before and could never even get most of the franchisees to buy off on. I wonder if this time all of the franchisees will actually serve breakfast.

This breakfast menu looks most like the Jack in the Box breakfast menu (which is available all day and has been for decades). It does not have the product variety of the McDonalds or even Burger King breakfast menus.

It looks like (at least in the pictures) they might be using square sausage patties this time around, which I do not recall them doing in the past. That's one way they can offer something different, and appeal to existing Wendy's customers.
